Honestly can't think of anything else that's needed. I'm not Bootsy therefore no wah/filters are required, I'm not into reverb or delay, and I have all the dirt I could want courtesy of my amp (or the VT should I be going into solid state amplification).

@Stevis - The Morley pedals were always big. That pedal has a drum full of a really toxic oil which is probably no longer legal to buy/sell. And yeah, heavier than a lot of Class D amps....

Oh, but wahs are so fun!

Of course I also run some weird pedals, so there's that.

Also Ross is the former bassist of the disbanded Ludicra, a fantastic local band from around here.

In Hawaii this type of person is known as a "Haole" (pronounced "How-lee"). Essentially this means 'full of ****'...

@TBird1958 or anyone else with one of the Greco Birds, do you have any issues with your pickups being microphonic? When I turn my amp up past 5, it squeals like a pig when not being played (even with hands on the strings), and when playing you can hear the ringing and edge of squeal start to creep in. Even if I turn my treble control all the way off on the amp. I can also talk into it and you can hear it coming out of the amp.

So I wound the knobs on the GK to noon (I never do that!) and carefully played a bit, it was so &%^$#*( loud, but no feedback at all, I was within four feet of the speakers. I did blow on the pickup with the treble all the way up and hear it. I thought about checking the outside of the house to see if I'd blown any of the siding off.

I just went and did the same with my Greco TB II straight into the MB Fusion 500 and a single Neo 212ii, with almost identical effect. All fine, if you can call a fire breathing monster fine. No squealing etc, but very, very loud loud.

I did have a squealing experience last time I gigged the TB II through the Fusion 550 and both Neo212iis and ran it through my pedal board (between the bass and the input of my Stroborack which sits before the amp in the signal train of that rig). It seemed to stop when I kicked off the MXR Chorus. I just assumed it was something in the Chorus settings that didn't like the high output of the Greco. I hadn't looked into it further, but I have rehearsal tomorrow and will see if I can get it to do it again.

Sometimes potting helps. But a lot of the time they have to be rewound.

Plan 9, with whom I spent a few years and did 2 records with, is getting inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame. They've been around since the early 80s and have had a few personnel swaps over the years, so there are going to be a good dozen-plus of us rehearsing up today, and a few more times, for a reunion show at the Met in Pawtucket in a few months. I'll bringing the Epi Blackbird along for that one-well, as usual! Maybe there'll be something to post, just for the posterity of me li'l bird here amongst the clan.

On the subject of pup mods, I wonder if it's possible to get my bird to get a little more RIC character? Not to be heretical, but some of the recordings I did with Plan 9 we're on a RIC, and the character is very distinguishable. I also like it...

I got me a T-Bird (Epi)- Fender guy for 30 years, it took a while to get used to the neck, but I like it - relocated the strap buttons and it's good to go. I have no desire to "Fenderbird" this one. View attachment 1057932
