I'm sorry to hear that Ashdown has problems. My brother (Marial around here) had one, and it was one of the few I liked as much as the big ol' Acoustic stacks I like to play through. Different, but good. He sold it. I don't know what he has now. In the mean time, I just bought another Morley Rotating Wah. It kinda works. I think I can get it working completely. It's only the size of a Volkswagen, so of course I need two of 'em. DOH! And the Fender Sound Expander that's also an oil can delay. 'Birds are not my only geekery. Mark has trains, I have oil cans. Trains are easier to explain to people.

Cali has had a ridiculous amount of rain this winter, after so much drought.

On the bright side of global warming, here in Southern Ontario Canada, its been around 60 degrees F here the last few days, record breaking temps here this winter. Only used my snowblower once, and that was before Christmas. If everything goes according to plans, I'll be planting palm trees in my front yard within 5 years.

Several years ago Gibson did this "Guitar of the week" promo, several basses were part of it including the G-3 and Kirst Nirvana guy's RD - Production was list as a week's worth 400 pieces.

When people questioned the environmental qualities of my old van, I always said that I was trying to make Seattle into a tropical paradise. It was just slower than I thought. But, my wife and I picked out a semi-tropical looking plant with red leaves that look like a palm tree, only short, that will eventually turn into a really short palm tree. It's still alive a few years later, so the money spent on lousy fuel mileage must have been worth it.

Actually, I don't believe Krist Novoselic's RD was part of Guitar of the Week. Guitar of the Week was a program Gibson ran in 2007, and as far as I'm aware only featured 4 basses, the Zebrabird, two Les Paul Money basses, and an SG bass Supreme. I believe both the G-3 and Novoselic RD were produced in 2012.

Interesting observation.
We don't even bat an eye at playing, listening to, buying or performing 1960's music here in the two thousand teens. If you think about it, that would be like people in 1966 raving about Irving Berlin vs Scott Joplin's 1915 ragtime music. IIRC about the only nostalgic music still popular in the mid sixties was big band and swing, which came about in the 1940's, decades after ragtime and foxtrot. Looks like Rock is here to stay!

IIRC the 2007 weekly special series only included 2 different basses in two different finishes. A lava burst SG supreme, a Blonde SG supreme, a blue Money bass and a Blonde money bass - all of which had flame maple tops.
