You're lucky if only the fronds dislodge and hit your car. A lot of palms around here are planted in sandy soil, and in really strong winds...
A lot of those fronds that are falling from 100 feet up and being carried by 75 mph winds like kites, weigh 25 pounds or more and are covered with jagged shark like teeth. They can do real damage to cars or anything else they hit.

We have monkey puzzle trees in Seattle. They are an exotic species from Oz or somewhere. Aside from looking a little weird, they have cones the size and weight of coconuts that fall every so often. Rarely with bad results, but the potential exists, I suppose.

Plenty of palms here in Southern Queensland, obviously named after our Queen
Those ones in the car park look like Cocos Palms which I believe have been declared a noxious weed around here.
At least one local council has taken to strapping the bases of the fronds on the big Cuban Royals in the main streets so they can't fall off on people. They then go round periodically and safely remove them.

The ones in the foreground and the one on top of the car are called Queen palms and they aren't too bad because they don't get very tall (maybe 30feet or so). Their seed pod clusters can get huge and weigh over a hundred pounds, which when dropped 30 feet can do some damage but you normally have to cut those off, so it's a controlled drop. The real killers here in SoCal are the tall ones way back in the background. Those buggers are the ones that shed their fronds in high winds and do all the roof and car damage around here. Appreciate the responses from everyone! Picked it up yesterday and did some fine tuning today. Almost have it right where I want it with the stock bridge. Nowhere near as difficult as I was expecting.
The seed pods are really bad. Dogs can choke on them.
