The only Ashdown I ever used was backline at a local venue we were regulars at. That amp, in my time there, took three trips to the bench, and two previous to my tenure there. The owner of the place finally got rid of it.

Dunno, maybe he got a lemon, but that's my story- but it's not like I hear many of them about Asdown. I hope you do better than that!

I've played through ABM series & rootmaster & i love them both. But the rootmaster is easier to handle in terms of having it in my road case & also power handling with my cabinet.

I would grab it! They are great heads and if you aren't happy you can always sell it down the road. You never know, it might replace your Peavey.

Thats what i'm thinking too! It's not so much to replace my peavey cause i enjoy the peavey & it sounds right for my tone. The GK would be more of a backup/somewhat regular gig amp if i don't feel like using the peavey. Down the line i might eventually sell it, even if it's not local (online or something). & use the cash to get the ashdown amp.

Andii, I use 800RB II, I've had it for about 5 years or so, for what I do, it works great. Volume is never a problem, there are a couple of tricks to set it up initially, the manual may still be able to be downloaded from GK, if not I'll copy mine and get it to you.

Ha! No political statement intended. It's been a running "global warming...when can I plant palm trees?" joke for me for years. I'm as far south as Canada goes, and it's still too freakin cold for me, lol

Palm trees suck, honestly. They provide almost no shade at all, so suck in hot weather. And the fronds that get dislodged in storms (pretty easily) are large enough to damage cars, so they suck in stormy weather, too.

Yes, but I assumed that he was in mainland Canada, rather than an Island. Also, I'm not sure that anyone lives on Middle Island. Pelee Island, slightly north does have residents and even an airport. For my part, I was assuming that "as far south as Canada goes" was referring to the Greater Leamington Metro area.

No argument on palm trees. In fact, you don't need a storm for dying fronds to fall; they just fall randomly. And they are just a PITA to clear up. Nor are they native to California. They should be treated as an invasive species.

The Weather Channel is always showing palm trees bent almost double during a hurricane and I was always amazed at how well the green ones stayed on.

You're lucky if only the fronds dislodge and hit your car. A lot of palms around here are planted in sandy soil, and in really strong winds...

A lot of those fronds that are falling from 100 feet up and being carried by 75 mph winds like kites, weigh 25 pounds or more and are covered with jagged shark like teeth. They can do real damage to cars or anything else they hit.

Agreed. There are three on the street I grew up on. We always avoided parking under them.

I don't think that the palms in California are either date or coconut palms. And, my extensive research (watching Gilligan's Island) indicates that coconuts regularly fall and appear to aim for people beneath. Further, being hit on the head with a coconut usually results in either amnesia or personality change.

Dates are grown commercially in the SoCal desert, plenty of coconuts in S. Florida. Not a lot of idiots hit by either, although they abound.
