Jackson with EMGs, its stock. While I like most of my Thunderbirds passive it's nice to have this bass as a choice because on certain stages it can be far less boomy and I think it rides in the mix really well.

For that price, already with chrome hardware and Thunderbuckers, plus all the original hardware and '01 pickups? And it's pretty light weight? Tempting doesn't even begin to describe it. If it's anything like my '01, it's got some weird magic about it. And it's a natural finish instead of burst. I don't recall seeing a post 1989 reissue with that finish more than a couple times.

It’s a great deal. I’m headed up there. But the wife would have my head. As it is I’ve got two basses to pick up that I haven’t even seen yet.

Around the time I got the ‘15 in the fall of ‘15, there was either a ‘13 or ‘14 at the local CG with that finish. New old stock. It was $1099.00 then lowered to $999.99 including the case. About a year or so later, there was one at the CG in Modesto. Again new old stock. IIRC, it was $1199.00 but they “lost” the case. I was tempted, but passed. Woulda Coulda Shoulda.

I miss having a British roadster. I miss how they handle, how they sound, the direct mechanical feel of driving one. I even kinda miss SU carburetors. I don't miss the Prince.

I had a friend in the late seventies who had one. It was the most unreliable car he ever owned. He was always driving a loaner or a rental. But it was a very cool car.
