We got together over 4th of July weekend last year, it was almost just because it was something we all needed after Covid, for my part it was a great, silly fun road trip from Seattle down I-5 through Oregon and a lot of California in a Subaru loaded with 5 basses and my hubby..........

Our buddy @Chucky Stiletti ‘s home is the bass of operations. Our Buddy Jeff from New York arrived yesterday. There will be a pizza GTG Friday evening as attendees filter in, a trip to a vintage music store in Santa Cruz on Saturday to play various basses, and a chance to see Chucky in action if we crash his Winery gig Sunday afternoon.

Rugby league is definitely fun to watch. I could watch any of the various variations and enjoy them.

As for the get together, no way I'll be making this year. I have 5 kids so sometimes I'm so busy I need to plan bathroom breaks. Lol. That's really cool. Perhaps a couple of us should score some of the smaller six string variants and a drum set and arrange a gig at a GTG someday.

Waiting on that blue Bird to show up to my house today.....

Think about flying to Seattle next year and spending a few days........So much to see here and it's been the best Summer ever this year!

Frank's ride from last year flew into town on Tuesday for Seafair week. We have unlimited Hydroplanes on Lake Washington and airshow with the Blue Angels.

Jackson with EMGs, its stock. While I like most of my Thunderbirds passive it's nice to have this bass as a choice because on certain stages it can be far less boomy and I think it rides in the mix really well.

In every person to person bass sale where I’m the seller I always try to represent the bass as accurately as possible, set the best possible price for the buyer, not haggle about pricing, and throw in unrequested extras (a strap, or stand, or cables, or strings…) after the sale has completed. My goal is always to help the buyer feel they got the best deal possible.

As a buyer, I don’t waste my time dickering on price, if your an honest seller and you tell me how much it will take to buy your bass I shouldn’t have to negotiate a better deal, if I did it tells me you were lying about how much it will take to buy your bass. If I’m interested in your bass it’s partially because I like it at that price. If you’ll lie about that you might be lying about other things that might be wrong with the bass. Yes, I’ve passed on some potentially very good deals where I probably could have talked the seller down quite a bit. But I have yet to lose any sleep over it, I have enough toys to keep me happy.

In Store and online shop purchases are a different story, I’ll usually make one offer at what I feel is fair ti both parties. If it’s accepted, great, if not there will be other opportunities in the future on other basses.

Kind of the same with me. When I sell I don't pad the price and and when I have it's not been much because I want it to seem like a good deal and get a quick and happy buyer. Generally I ask what I hope to get. When I'm the buyer, if the price seems fair enough and doesn't seem to have a good amount of padding, I just pay it. Like with my '06, the guy wanted $1k and split shipping from AZ. It seemed more than fair enough to me and I just paid him. Like you, with stores, I almost always throw out an offer or ask what there best price is for the item.

But if the price in my head doesn't match the sellers, I have no problem throwing out an offer and they can take it, pass or counter. I'm not offended how they reply. You can generally tell when someone whats to retire off a sale, and in those cases I generally don't even bother. Even so, I figure each person has their own reasons for the price they set and are entitled to it. I'm not put off by offers when I sell items. I don't think I've gotten any unrealistic offers when selling in the classifieds here. I'd say about half just pay my price because I try to be reasonable. I know when I'm selling, I just want t move it on as fast as possible.

Yes, I converted a passive Goth Tbird into an Active FrankenGoth with an Aguilar 2 band pre and Bartolini EMG size pickups and coil switching. It sounds absolutely fantastic and can now go from crystal clear baritone guitar type sounds to a full on in your face earth shaking machine. By far the most versatile Tbird I own or have ever played.

That's exactly where the username came from!!! I was 17 playing semipro rugby in the original MLR. My buddy used to joke, "dude, you're not even a professional hooker. You're just a semipro hooker."

I figured that's what it was about but didn't say anything. I played for eight years, but was strictly amateur. I was a flanker mostly, but played every position except fullback. Which made me a fill-in substitute hooker sometimes. That's probably even worse sounding than semi-pro. But, it was true, so why not?

The Blue Angels have been overhead this week. There's no mistaking the sound of a military jet in a hurry. Or even if it is not in a hurry. Plus, they fly lower than airliners.
