And one of our Texas brothers is even flying in for the GTG this weekend. Should be cool!W
Wait, am I understanding that this group had an actual get together???? That's pretty freaking rad.
Where's it at? I'm in TX myselfAnd one of our Texas brothers is even flying in for the GTG this weekend. Should be cool!
It’s in Hollister/Santa Cruz, California this year, this weekend, it was there last year as well. There’s talk it might be in Seattle next year and IIRC maybe SoCal the year after that.Where's it at? I'm in TX myself
I reached my full adult height of 5’11” (1.8 meters) at 14 so I was a prop in secondary school. Haven’t played since 1977.
Thanks! Ice blue metallic.
That's exactly where the username came from!!! I was 17 playing semipro rugby in the original MLR. My buddy used to joke, "dude, you're not even a professional hooker. You're just a semipro hooker."
Great catch. 20yrs later and you're the first person who's ever "got it" that I know of.

Epiphone did with the Pro range that most seem to say could do with a preamp swap.Has anyone modded their T bird and turned it into an active bass?? I know they sound amazing as is but just wondered... I see John east do a 3 control pre..

No, quite reasonable.moito$$?
one more mine is not modded it is all original, but it is heavy has to be one of the heavier basses I own
I have a View attachment 5145750 a most have if you are thinking about this bass. Some people have reported weak pickups, but if you set them to the correct height they are strong in the mix
play ability is good comparable to Epiphone T I have tried in the past. Everything was good out of the box neck relief and string height were spot on I adjusted the pickup height to spec they were too far from the strings fit and finish were good. Got a strong back you should be okay![]()
Yes, I converted a passive Goth Tbird into an Active FrankenGoth with an Aguilar 2 band pre and Bartolini EMG size pickups and coil switching. It sounds absolutely fantastic and can now go from crystal clear baritone guitar type sounds to a full on in your face earth shaking machine. By far the most versatile Tbird I own or have ever played.Has anyone modded their T bird and turned it into an active bass?? I know they sound amazing as is but just wondered... You lucky son of a gun. I’ve been watching for them. I want one for the BaCH.No, quite reasonable.
We’ve had several mini-GTGs of various peeps (2-4 group members). I met a few people last spring in SFO and Seattle. This year’s will be the largest so far. It’s a really cool group of people who initially bonded over the coolest bass ever. Stoked for this weekend!W

yessir, found it in Ventura for 400 bucks… couldn’t say no…S.D. Curlee! Been on my want list forever!
I understand what you're saying, but try to feel too bad. I've had a couple buys like that unrelated to music. He sold it for a price he thought was acceptable to him (for whatever reason), and you were willing to pay the price you offered, which he accepted. He could have held out for more or countered, but chose not to (for whatever reason). You in no way took advantage of the situation. No new news here, but most people ask and price and everyone knows it's open to negotiation unless otherwise stated. Who knows what was paid by that person or even how it was acquired at times. He's hopefully got a lot of life left and his situation will most likely be different and better in a few years. At 25, I wasn't exactly "living the life" but it worked out and things change. I began to see the reality of you end up largely (not exclusively), where your decisions have taken you. But it's great that there are people here like you are concerned about their fellow man/woman and not completely self-absorbed.I felt the same way this morning when I picked mine up from the seller. He lived in a basement appartment no larger than my dining room, so small I thought I was entering a storage space or janitor's closet. Don't recall seeing a window either. Stuff lying everywhere, place didn't appear dirty, just ... messy. About 25 y.o., he projected kind of a I'm living the dream vibe, but still, I felt a bit cheap knocking 50$ off the asking price.
On it.Got luck with that number. If anyone feels like giving me a matching vehicle, feel free. I'll pay for shipping.
