Thunderbird Club

Had the Hipshot Mini Clover tuners installed, and strung with a set of the LaBella low tension flat wounds and used it on a gig last night .... crappy cell phone photo

On a (somewhat related) subject I got a nice fifth of Hamilton Speyside Single Malt Scotch from my brother as a B day gift. Liam, my good Prince I intend to get completely toasted in your honor - several times.

Do to your liver which I done to mines, but through alcohol! I am not allowed to drink for 6 months... Not a single drop... AS IF!

Couldn't be happier!

Just had two exciting weekends - My band was asked to do a remix for a forthcoming release by electronic legends Nitzer Ebb.

Today we finished the remix, which also had me dubbing a bass track to the song. My gold 50th anniversary debuted on this track, and sounded absolutely amazing - what a growly beast this bass is with a small touch of distortion! :D

Here's a picture of my pop-up studio for the occasion, with the T-bird in the background:

Picking up on the pick discussion from earlier (see what I did there?), I use a Dunlop Gator Grip 1.50. Up until about a year ago, I was using the Tortex .60s. Then I started playing in my current band and the .60s were getting demolished. The 1.50s are great, but it's one per practice. They are spent when I'm done.

Locally, I can't seem to find something in a nylon 1.50. I think that would be best. I like the grips on the Dunlop nylon ones.
You should try the Wedgie rubber picks. They come in soft, medium or hard. Thumb indent is a nice grip.

The wife just came downstairs after putting the kids to bed and getting their stuff ready for school. Her reaction to my news about the Goth: "What are you going to do with a third Thunderbird?"

LOL, I reminded her of the pic of Michael's living room with all the TBirds relaxing on the coaches.

LOL! That remark bears a startling resemblance to the one my significant other said... The usual wifey comment seems to go something like, "what do you need another bass (or guitar) for? You can only play one at a time..." ;)

Thanks, Mark! :)

And being a connoisseur to lighting fixtures, I'm sure you appreciate the Jeremy Cole Aloe Blossom pendant in the background... :)

I did indeed - It's my job, I look at lighting wherever I go, I can't help it!

I'd say remind her about how many shoes she may have..............but it's not a good idea :roflmao:
