Thunderbird Club

My wife has an expensive purse collection that rivals my bass collection, but even her most expensive purse is much cheaper than my most expensive bass. She has this crazy guilty view that if she gets another purse that I'm entitled to buy another toy. I will never argue that point with her :D

Lucky you!!!

I'm starting to like your wife more and more... ;)

How do you guys like the Epi TB Pro IV with the active pickups? I'm hoping to find a shop that has one in stock.

I've played Fenders since I started bass, and I fell in love with the neck-thru look of the natural oil finish. I've never used actives, but I'm in search of high output--kind of like a P, but with a little more grit with the tone up and smooth and silky with the tone rolled off.

So how does that work out? Would Veronica have to argue when she wants to buy a new 'bird, that Mark has spent too much money on model trains?! :roflmao:

You laugh - that's exactly what happens! :wacky:

Hello everybody, not posted in a while (hope I don't loose my royalty status). I fell off my bicycle and lacerated my liver, and was in an Intensive Care Unit and in over wards for a few weeks so I have been quite unwell, on top of that, College has been starting back up and getting prepared for that while being extremely unwell has been hard.. I've been advised to not do much for 6 months so maybe I can give the 'bird some well deserved love!

Love and Peace, Prince Liam

P.S Happy belated birthday Mark!

Hope you are well on the mend soon Liam! All the best to you! Slainte!

Seems like a fair compromise :D Next t-bird i will have, are the ones i build myself. & there are 3 of them: A white with blood splatter neck through, A reverse spector bolt on (like yours just in either sunburst or natural burst) & a replica of my dad's 79' bird neck through (According to him, he went the hanoi rocks route and had it all white & a model G neck pickup cause the original was dead)

I have one…plenty of tonal options.
Even though I have a Dean Exotica acoustic bass for practicing, I find that I grab the Pro IV more. I put some flatwounds on it and it sounds really great. The neck on the natural oil finish is incredibly smooth.

You should try the Wedgie rubber picks. They come in soft, medium or hard. Thumb indent is a nice grip.

Cool, I'll pick up a pack. Thanks!

LOVE my TBird Pro, but I usually keep the Active EQ set Flat. No worries, cos it certainly is loud enough :)

It's an amazing coincidence - we like the same kinds. So many Single Malt Scotches, so little liver

I really really do love this club... :)

It's pretty cool we can have all these familiar conversations between us which are not always bass related.

It's also great to see the concern for each others well being, that's being displayed here - like we're one big family of sorts... :)

This makes for a very enjoyable reading that I look forward to read every day, and much different from some of the other clubs here on TB. :D
