they wanted 700 bucks for this at a pawn shop in Eureka, and Rosa kept insisting I get it (when does that happen?) but just to heavy for me…..should have bought and sold it in retrospect…..

To those who know G&L - they've always been collectable. One has to look out for truss-rod & neck issues on some early '80s L1000's/2000's but otherwise you can't find a more versatile bass. (especially the L2000)
