I had to replace the blower fan motor in my '85 Volvo 240. Accessing it required removing a lot of the dash. It was really difficult. But in those days, still the 90's, I was stubborn and did the work myself.

I'm so glad that I don't own/need a car here in NY, way too many expenses on top of maintenance, hard pass.

That's how my daughter feels living in Boston. She occasionally rents a car for dives to Martha's Vinyard, to Vermont or up to Maine, but is happy not to have all the hassle of owning one.

I personally like the Gibson pickups way more than the Epi 760's, thru my gear they have much more bass/lo-mid/mid going on than the Epi does, a bit less upper mid and treble as well. I traded my Epi pickups off for the Gibson, they came out of a 2021 Non Reverse, should be the same what has no become available to buy separately, for the money I think they're a great choice.

Last car repair I did was replace the water pump on a 1966 Toyota Corona on Maui. Luckily when it blew I rolled into an empty parking lot that had a spigot and hose outside the building. I walked to a Napa , bought the water pump, gasket,screw driver , 8mm wrench and 10mm wrench ,walked back to the car and was on the road again in about an hour . Hope I didn't miss too much. A couple questionable days with Grady and had to skip a few pages. Thought today might be the day we would have to say good bye. The vet looked him over and while his tumor is getting big and looks awful, she was not concerned. We were afraid it was going to rupture or just be to that point needing a decision after a couple days of him not feeling too good. She checked him out and said he's actually in great shape considering his age and issues and said we didn't need to me making any decisions today. We spent yesterday afternoon and this morning thinking we would not be bringing him home--and not sleeping last night. He had a great day once we got home! She said everyone there knows Grady and his reputation for his will to live! (...)

But seriously, was just using the neck pickup and stock Gibson strings. I like those pickups a lot.

Neck pickup. . . Are you implying there's another pickup?
I'll lean into this and say the Thunderbird bridge pickup sounds great, but that's an anomaly. I really like my J, but it's neck pickup solo most of the time.

So here's something interesting. Here's a riff played twice. First is my 2013 Reverse with TB+ and second is the 2018 with Thunderbucker 66. Same strings and signal chain. Only different was turning up the gain a little on my Damnation Audio MBD for the 2018 since the Thunderbuckers are inherently cleaner-sounding than the TB+. but not dramatically different.

Interesting, yes. I'm not sure if the TB+ have a bit more bottom or the Thunderbuckers just have more top end.
