Easy fix. Own a a IV, use it as a II.If nothing else, the IVs just look balanced to me. But that BaCH was stunning just as it was.
Word!I like saving money, but it is what it is on strings. I have TI flats on a P and a J and TI Power Bass rounds on a different PJ. If I was that worried about saving money I'd stop logging in to TB.
I think that's what I have on my VP. I brought it to a Legion jam last Saturday night and my index finger was a bit sore the next day. But that was 4 hours of playing - with no break...There's also a 50-105 set I tried, but I wasn't thrilled with it(E standard).

I hear rumor that cobalt rounds eat frets faster than Willy.I'm really liking them so far, but I tend to like flats in general so I'm slightly tempted....
Ah. It looks more green in the picture. This is the same colour as the one MCF showed us, Pelham Blue - it's pretty much the same bass!
Got it. It looks great. I can't see the gold flake in the photo so much, but that's probably one of the reasons it looks so good. It's a beautiful color.Sorry got that wrong, should have checked the link you quoted! That is my take on Candy Apple Green:
I have a tame paint sprayer who's great at mixing colours to my description, as well as matching unusual existing colours. I had what I thought was a Dupont/Fender Candy Apple Green custom paint job on a bass (who knows?) but I wanted more sparkle and a bit more tangy so my paint guy used gold flake instead of silver. I like it too!
The drummer's kit looks like an old stencil kit, probably a Pearl knockoff from the '70s, made in Taiwan. Those sound amazing if you can find one in good shape.Just found this pic from a looooong time ago with my old Danelectro. That was a really fun bass.

Sure...
interesting technique...
thanks GeorgeChuck, is this your first experience with EBCFs on a VP?
They truly are an amazing string on an amazing bass. All the top end one could ever ask for out of a flat, yet still creamy smooth on the bottom. If I were a gigging artist looking to get into a super flexible incredibly sweet sounding stage set up at the lowest possible cost (basically biggest bang for the buck) I’d be hard pressed to find a better fit than a used VP for $500 with some EBCFs and a used $500 GK MB212 combo. That set up would would punch way above its weight class.
I tried it. Actually helped my playing. Just need a longer strap.interesting technique...
