Anybody happen to know how to wire a 3 pole 4 way rotary switch for two single coil pickups to go series, parallel, neck, bridge?

Bit of a rough day. I thought I was having a heart attack since I was on the verge of fainting standing or sitting, couldn’t focus, and was sweating profusely. Went to the extent of calling 911. The very nice paramedics checked out my blood pressure and blood sugar and I was ok. Probably exhaustion and a bit of an ear ache. I slept the rest of the afternoon.
I hate that I’m old enough to even worry about a heart issue. Beyond having a broken heart.

Wow! Glad it didn't seem serious. Unfortunately weird things like that happen and there seems to be no reason that is ever found as it never happens again. I hope that is true in your case. Yes, the older you get, you think a little more about chest pain or hurting and don't just blow it off as when younger. Take care of yourself.

Also.... found a very interesting piece for sale not listed yet. It's a Mike Lull JT4... the first Mike Lull ever made with the new headstock shape. That's straight from Spencer's mouth. It's got a pair of Lull T-Bird pickups so it belongs in here right?

No age is immune to heart issues. A friend of mine (Mark Heard) had a heart attack on stage when he was 40. We also knew a 12 y/o with a hole in her heart. Yikes!

True. When working construction we had a laborer who died at 32 of a heart attack. Big strapping dude. I suppose something genetic.

I have a tendency to play relatively loud, not bedroom levels at all, more along the lines of small stage and small club levels.
IME in a SS combo with a 12” speaker that equates to something in the neighborhood of 300watts. More is always nice to have, less can be problematic. If I were to go with separate components I might be able to drop down to 150watts with the right cabinet. But I have yet to find a 150watt or less SS combo that doesn’t sound like crap. 300watts and up seems to be the magic number in SS combos for a good sound at volume.

As an example, the Markbass 300watt 12” mini combo would do what I want and I love the sound of it. By comparison, the Fender 100watt 12” Rumble sounds like a toy.

I was leaning towards a combo because this will be in my family room, not a practice room. So I’m going for clean lines, not a cluttered appearance with knobs and switches and cables all over the place. Again, the Markbass mini fits the bill perfectly, compact, neat, clean look, plenty of power.

Markbass? Clean look? They must have changed a few things.

Take care of yourself. Calling 911 was a good call. Irreversible things happen fast.

I had one(mid 70s Blue Line + 810 cab). Didn't hate it, but also never liked it. Sold it. Had one other 'peg later(combo). Same opinion on it. Traded it for something useful(PA gear). I don't like Ampeg's 'baked in' sound. JMNSHO.

Really. Why did you choose that over the Gibson reissue?

Because the build of the bass started before the Gibson pickup was availble for the market.
I made a quote for the customer, based on the EY pickup (which I really like).
The Gibson pickup costs twice as much.

But I guess I can eaily swap them, now that nothing has been soldered yet.
So I could do an A/B comparison.

they rule! I have a Traveller Head with a 2 x 10 enclosure…… fwiu early SWR drivers were actually Eden. The voicing of their parametric
EQs could not be more intuitive….good stuff, heavy but that’s not an issue here

I might give this 300watt combo a try, looks to be in excellent condition and the price is right. A 410 is more speakers than I really need, but what the heck, the more the merrier (as long as I’m not loading in and out). The EQ set up and control layout is very similar to the Thunderfunk and the old Gibson amp before it. I wonder if they’re related somehow.

BTW - I suspect this thing weighs over a hundred pounds, but the total shipping cost is an insanely low 30 bucks. Hard to beat a deal like that on shipping anything these days.

I thought so, but, as my wife has pointed out, my body is changing and I may not be registering my need for water properly.

Good to hear you’re doing better!
An inner ear infection can easily cause a lot of those symptoms. I’d suggest you see your doctor, explain what happened and have him check your ear/sinus for infection and check your white blood cell count just to make sure there isn’t an infection somewhere else. Fever (sweating), dizzy, loss of balance, inability to focus and hallucinations are all signs of a possible infection. With the exception of the ear ache they can also be signs of an anxiety attack if you have major stressful issues you’re dealing with. Talk to the Doc! It can save your life.

I plan to see my doctor soon. I’m a pretty oily person and produce lots of ear wax. Some of it may have gotten compacted against the eardrum. I’m dropping using earbuds.

Getting enough salt (and the right kind of salt) can also be a big deal, as well as drinking enough water. Hope you feel better soon!
