Because the build of the bass started before the Gibson pickup was availble for the market.
I made a quote for the customer, based on the EY pickup (which I really like).
The Gibson pickup costs twice as much.

But I guess I can eaily swap them, now that nothing has been soldered yet.
So I could do an A/B comparison.

The A/B test and your observations would be interesting.

I might give this 300watt combo a try, looks to be in excellent condition and the price is right. A 410 is more speakers than I really need, but what the heck, the more the merrier (as long as I’m not loading in and out). The EQ set up and control layout is very similar to the Thunderfunk and the old Gibson amp before it. I wonder if they’re related somehow.

BTW - I suspect this thing weighs over a hundred pounds, but the total shipping cost is an insanely low 30 bucks. Hard to beat a deal like that on shipping anything these days.

I used an Eden several times and liked them. Initially all the knobs was a little overload, but that was no obstacle once a little time was spent with it. Nice amps.

I plan to see my doctor soon. I’m a pretty oily person and produce lots of ear wax. Some of it may have gotten compacted against the eardrum. I’m dropping using earbuds.

George nailed the importance of the ears so well. They can cause a lot of problems. Make sure your doc will clean them out. I do that every couple years. It's amazing all the junk that they can get out. Hydration is also key for many things and you can't go on if you feel thirsty at all. Most people don't drink enough water, and if you're like most of us, you are no exception, so try upping your intake. Not to mention you want to minimize kidney issues.

Getting enough salt (and the right kind of salt) can also be a big deal, as well as drinking enough water. Hope you feel better soon!

Good point. Generally not a problem for most here in the States since everything has salt(!) but it certainly can happen. I knew a guy who was so conscientious about his blood pressure and health he actually didn't get enough salt and ended up in the hospital, so it can happen.

For those of us with OCD - yes, first thing I did when I looked at the picture. And there are 20 mules hitched to the lead wagon and maybe a couple of spares in tow behind the water tank wagon.
For those that don’t know, this is in the Death Valley area. Very neat place to visit in the winter when the temperature is bearable. Bring your golf clubs and you can officially play the lowest round of your life there (it’s below sea level). The geology and rock formations and bad water basin area are breathtaking. Parts of it are literally like a moonscape.

Actually, I’d assume a mule has more “torque” or pulling power than a typical horse, possibly somewhere between a standard horse and a draft horse (like a Clydesdale or Percheron)

I had one(mid 70s Blue Line + 810 cab). Didn't hate it, but also never liked it. Sold it. Had one other 'peg later(combo). Same opinion on it. Traded it for something useful(PA gear). I don't like Ampeg's 'baked in' sound. JMNSHO.

I get it. It’s all personal preference. What cracks me up are the threads in the GP asking for an amp, other than Ampeg, that they can get to dial in the Ampeg tone. Just buy a freaking Ampeg.
