We drove 1:40 to this German place a few days ago. It was fantastic as always and well worth the nice drive. A little bit of heaven on earth.

I can't keep myself from ordering the Wurst Platter. "One each of 3 of our locally made German sausages (Bratwurst, Bockwurst, and Knackwurst). Served on a bed of sauerkraut with German fries (fried potatos)."

It's long gone now, but there used to be a place of the same name in Kenmore, WA. north end of Lake Washington.
I checked the menu and it looks great, try the Sauerbraten and the pork schnitzel :drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

When I visited George last Sunday, he helped and fixed the static issue with my otherwise recently acquired LE Custom Shop. It was an input jack grounding issue. Fixed.

Gotta admit, it was the goofiest grounding issue I’ve run across. Basically the output jack tip was coming in contact with the grounding tape on the underside of the control cavity cover (never seen that before) and the tip contact surface wasn’t making good contact with some cables, but ok with others (seen that plenty of times).

Reset the tip contact to the correct position and removed a patch of the control cavity grounding tape so if the top hits the inside if the cover it’ll just hit plastic and not a conductive surface. Ideally I would have liked to have taken a forstner bit to the output jack seat to lower the jack in the cavity a bit but time didn’t really permit. It’s perfectly playable as is but next time Marshall comes over he can bring the bass with him and we’ll fix it up nicely.

BTW - not sure what strings are on it, but it’s a sweet sounding bass if your sound goals are on the darker side. I now have that model Tbird on my GAS short list.

That’s why I was asking what strings it had.

I normally lean towards the darker side of the bass tone spectrum. As such I routinely solo the neck pickup and play between the neck pickup and the neck in finger style mode with the tone knob almost always less than half up. On Marshall’s bass I found myself turning the tone knob all the way up to max and blending in a sizable portion of the bridge pickup to get my normal dark creamy tone. It seemed to have a lot more bottom end than I’ve run into on other Tbirds, possibly even more than my Goth Tbirds. I’d say it’s close to a Gibby with TB+ pickups or an Eppi CP on steroids.

It you’re after deep dark and bold (not really mushy or muddy) then this is the bass for you. It’s not as over the top as a Greco but it’s certainly in that direction. If you like crystal clear glassy highs you might want to steer clear of this one and focus more on the VP.

As a side note - I’d definitely consider finding a set of these pickups for a future Tbird build. But no idea what pickups they are. I was told they’re actually guitar pickups but I don’t know which model.
