Thunderbird Club

Well, I wish 60’s Thunderbirds were 3 to 4 K. They’re generally 5 to 10 K or higher these days. And good luck buying a Bicentennial 70’s Tbird in that range anymore.

Any/all vintage basses seem to go up in value every day! I know Gen1 birds are $$$, but haven't kept up with late '60s NR's but it doesn't surprise me.

Any under $10,000 these days are few and far between or have major issues that need to be addressed.
To be honest, I completely lost interest in them when they crossed the $6000 threshold a year or two ago. I don’t expect to ever see those days again. Same story on my Alembics. $4000 for a super rare one in mint condition 10 years ago, same bass is now bumping $15,000. That’s a pass for me, fortunately I already have mine.

i Know ive surely missed something about these basses here, But if where do yall get these sweet lookin axes? and how much $ do they run
A Gibson reissue, meaning later than 1989, will cost anywhere from about $1200 to more than $2500 depending on what it is and what condition it is in. There are a whole lot more reissues than first runs these days. The latest non-reverses seem to have settled in around $1800.

Epiphones are less expensive than Gibsons.

You find one by finding somebody who is selling one. It happens, for some unknown reason.

Yeah, I'd love to have an Alembic but the prices are bonkers. I'm happy to have scored my 8-string BecVar for the price I did, since the Alembics will likely never be in a price range I can justify. And sadly, same with the old T-birds, the NRs, when they do come up, seem to be $6-7k and up.

I’m seeing $2200-$2400…

Point me to those!

That was Joe West @chromium but I don't know if he's still a member here on TB, he is on LBO, may have posted it there, he did later sell it..........
