My Les Paul 5 was 10 lbs, which is why it's gone. A pity as it sounded good, and for what it's worth belonged to John Taylor of Duran Duran

I searched "Gibson bass" on the GC site and there is a listing for a lefty Thunderbird IV, sunburst with chrome hardware available for backorder for $1499. There is no photo of it.
The baby-blue BaCH sounds/looks great! And it seems like an obvious question, but you are the BL of TNH's correct?
Also, sorry to hear about your singers broken wrist! I'm still dealing with my left wrist fracture and empathize with such an injury. Hope she gets it fixed and recovers well - it's a long process unfortunately.
That's interesting. Thanks. My guess is it's a dummy listing. I'll check with my contact at Gibson just in case.I searched "Gibson bass" on the GC site and there is a listing for a lefty Thunderbird IV, sunburst with chrome hardware available for backorder for $1499. There is no photo of it.
Hey guys, so I just got my first T-bird (an Epi 60s T-bird) and I'm surprised that I like it so much, while it is pretty unwieldy (especially the 60s headstock which will not fit in a gig bag :/), I actually like how it sits on a strap and it balanced much better than I though it would. It's currently got flats on it and sings with a nice throaty thump.
In terms of weight I feel like I got pretty lucky with one being 8.5-9lbs. Would it be unreasonable to expect a more recent Gibson thunderbird like a standard T-Bird or Rex Brown Model to weight around the same? I know weight has been one of the historical cons people have slapped over T-birds over the decades.
Hi there, since a week a proud owner of an epiphone thunderbird 60's. I love the bass, but as many i have issues with the intonation and I am considering replacing the bridge. I am however not at all technical and am not sure which bridge, if any, would fit preferably without having to drill new holes.
Anybody here with more experience on this? As in: which bridge to order? I am looking at:
Hipshot supertone. I assume the 2 point? SuperTone Gibson® Bass Replacement Bridge
Also heard good things about Babicz but honestly have no idea which bridge is the correct one.
Lefty EB 13 is also available for backorder. That's interesting. Thanks. My guess is it's a dummy listing. I'll check with my contact at Gibson just in case.
Do you have a link? I'm really thinking these are old listings.Lefty EB 13 is also available for backorder.
Jason, sorry to be a couple days behind, if you'd like a club number please let me know, I'm happy to add you - we just like a pic of your Thunderbird![]()

I am (somewhat reluctantly) the BL, having most time served, but I really prefer to have as a democracy for the process of decision making.
Go to the Guitar Center site and search "Gibson bass". Both listings are there now.Do you have a link? I'm really thinking these are old listings.
Last song of the night, I'm playing the BaCH, I have to hand it to Sophia, she tripped and fell about halfway through the second set, breaking her wrist in the process - she didn't know it at the time, just that it hurt. We finished the set and played most of the third, stopping at 1:00AM per the casino with this song. The X Ray was ugly!
Agreed. I bet those ads are from 2013.Gibson Left-Handed Thunderbird IV Electric Bass Vintage Sunburst Chrome Hardware
There is no way this could be a new Thunderbird. The price is too low.
