What an idyllic evening that was!

We only get the standard Eagle Rare over here but it's a firm favourite of mine, in fact it's a firm band favourite after our singer found some locally and started bringing it to rehearsals. Only the designated drivers (we take it in turns) pass on it, a delicious treat for sure. Having said that our other faves include Buffalo Trace anyway . . . and Makers Mark, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek, Bulleit, Four Roses, Old Forester, even the estimable Beam is enjoyed and appreciated!
Funny thing, none of us particularly like JD . . .

Cataldo JAEBIRD on Reverb, price drop and a hell of a deal at $800 bucks. No affiliation with the seller. Someone buy it before I do. Cataldo Fender-Bird Dark Green Cataldo Fender-Bird Dark Green | Reverb
Just outta curiosity, has anyone gone the opposite way? 7ender body/TBird neck. Only seen them with 'Bird body(yea!) and 7ender neck(ugh!!).

Squire was like that too.
I see his approach as different though- Yes being a band who spent their time more radically outside of standard song form, Chris' role was less traditionally supportive... He was sometimes another musical invention altogether. On the Silent Wings of Freedom, for example, he just came up with this motivic thing that carried no real traditional pulse, just a piece of an arrangement- whereas Paul was accompanying a more standard popular song form most of the time.
Yes also had Jon Anderson leading them, who had little understanding of, and little interest in, the standard song form, and the band had to sometimes come up with ways to make his ideas musical. So you had this team of musical engineers making it work, lol.
But yeah, they are similar in that they were strong melodic players for sure. I just see Paul as more melodically liberated because as great and evolved as their somgwriting became, they still worked from a traditional form. Paul took these extraordinary liberties that we embraced as inspiration even sometimes though he and Chris were out on the swingset instead of playing a board game inside like the other kids...

Be careful Donnie, I might just take you up on that. The best bourbon in the world is made right in your backyard. Find a bottle of Eagle Rare and enjoy.
You can visit any time. No gifts required!

And for clarification for any revenuers dropping in and reading, there is no Bourbon or any distilled spirits made in my "back yard." Anything like that that might be up the hill in our woods by the old Elm tree is not mine.

Some serious thinkers would say if it's not made in Kentucky, it's not Bourbon.

I forgot to let you know I was able to listen to it all the way thru, but wasn't in a position to listen in the song order you recommended. I did enjoy it and will definitely be listening to it again. Just dealing with a lot of family stuff right now (mother-in-law with dementia & Alzheimer's was just diagnosed with a large, aggressive cancerous mass on her kidney). So things are a bit dark for that kind of music. But I have recommended it to a couple of friends.
So sorry to hear about your MIL. Will be praying for your family.

Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers and happy almost Friday. Packing up for a long awaited trip to Walla Walla for a couple of gigs. A bit of a homecoming for myself and a good friend in the band. I picked up a second Ampeg 2X10 for moral support and a bit of stage sound. My question is both cabs are 8 ohms, and I am running cable from the little amp, to one cab, and then from that cab to the second one (daisy chain?), do I use the 4 ohm jack on the amp? I seem to recall 8+8=4 in ohm calculations, but am not certain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tomorrow night at Tranche winery as part of Fall Barrel release, and Saturday, a dance at the local Eagles club. Should be great fun. I know it is a great reason to take Friday off. I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing evening. Take care.
I bet the head and cabs sound great together.

This is rough stuff... I'm sorry. Times like these remind you of the little things you've invested your life in, that keep it together for you. Keep your eyes up, don't forget to recreate. We're here for you.

It is some seriously good :poop:!

Andy, I’m so very sorry to hear that. I’ll add her to my prayers.
I have to admit, since my wife passed I haven’t played that CD for the exact same reasons you mentioned. It’s a very dark emotional roller coaster compilation of songs, and not one to take lightly during dark or depressing times.
Hang in there and don’t hesitate to lean my direction if you need anything.

Kinda makes sense. JD isn't bourbon.

I love this picture (Thank you, Dave!) and that we all could be together for a little while and just relax and enjoy the moment. It's a very fond memory.

Yes 2 x 8 ohm cabs works out to a 4 ohm load on the amp, so use the 4ohm jack. I run those same cabs all the time. I suggest stacking them.
You'll be able to hear yourself - have a great gig!
