It's cool that they sound good fingerstyle, I can use a pick, but don't care to. Of course Spark pushed SushiBox pedals help...
@BklynKen gifted me this handy little device, and as the EBCF’s break in.
This little guy picks up the slack.

Apparently you have some real life Crocodile Dundee types:
If the Hipshot (or similar)bushings are loose, I wrap them with electrical tape (cut to width) until they sit snug in the holes.I went to replace my Greco machines recently and tried some ½" Hipshot Ultralites (well, tried one), tho the Greco posts are kinda ½" the Ultras didn't fit, annoyed theout of me at the time
!!
The bushings for the Greco parts are not the same size as the bushings for the Hipshots. So I ended up using the ⅜" Hipshot Ultralites and those bushings were a teeny bit loose in the headstock holes but careful installation of the things - marking up and drilling the single screw holes needed and patiently tightening the hex bushings - they are on there solidly and have noticeably improved the neck heaviness as well as having no baggy play (as per the original machines).
The instrument wasn't appallingly neck heavy but would try to drop to the horizontal - now it sits and stays where I hang it with no dive at all!

Playing at home, the acoustic sound of roundwounds bothers me, so I tend to put flats on most of my basses.Seems EBCF’s are all I play these days.
Even when they break in.
I still really dig the tone.
I've gone back to EBCFs, on the 'Bird anyway, after a coupla sets of SIT Power Flats(still on the Epi Embassy). The 2814's(45/65/80 100)seem to give it/me the tonal range I've been looking for with slightly less tension on the neck. No legitimate complaints re the SIT's. They're fine on the Embassy, but EBCFs are the best bet for the NR.Seems EBCF’s are all I play these days.

All 5 o' mine have flats(one has tapes).Playing at home, the acoustic sound of roundwounds bothers me, so I tend to put flats on most of my basses.
Agreed, but the SIT Power Flats are right up there too...and a lot cheaper.Seems EBCF’s are all I play these days.

Clearly you never met any on a moonlit night. They aren't dangerous enough to live in Oz.
5? I thought it was 4. My 3 players have EBCFs, and if I ever get round to finishing The Project, it’ll start with those. All 5 o' mine have flats(one has tapes).
He’s quite the pedal pusher.Ken turned me on to those as well. Great pedal!
I can understand why.Seems EBCF’s are all I play these days.

Do it!Looking at an Epiphone 60s 'Bird at GC, $499. Needs strings, looks fine. Can't post a pic...
I'm considering offering a couple amp heads in trade...
They don't do layaway anymore... I'm going to try and come back with my Eden and GK200RB. No bread today though, so hey, there'll be another of this doesn't happen.Do it!
