I think Chris Squire used a Jazz sometimes, but he played a lot of different basses over the years. Who was the guy that played for "The Band", didn't he play a Ripper?

The B-15 maybe older than suggested by the serial number. The schematic under the amp might indicate 1964 or slightly earlier.

Chris also used a modified Telecaster bass early on.

Please list all the songs Phil Lesh, Jack Casady, and Paul McCartney recorded with a P. I’ll give them Stu Cook and Duck Dunn.
FWIW(notalot), I've never even held a P Bass.

guys at the Ampeg club are really good about responding and have a wealth of knowledge. there’s also a 60’s Ampeg club and I’d be willing to bet there’s a B-15/18 club as well….heads up..

Those Ampeg guys are kind of nutty--have their own club....obsess and talk about Ampeg all the time.....
Said the kettle...

You're right, there's a huge amount of knowledge there and most all are great about wanting to be helpful.
