That's exactly how I feel. I don't want to modify or get down into the nitty gritty of my computer any more than I want to do so for my TV, fridge, or microwave. I want it to what I need it to the first time I plug it in, and not require me to learn how to be a computer programmer just to fix it if something goes wrong. Most of the time I'll gladly pay more money for less complexity and ease of use on my end as long as I don't have any desire to modify or control the inner workings of said item. And since I really don't ponder the benefits of ever becoming a computer programmer it's very fitting that I would throw a few extra bucks on the table to have a computer on my desk that I don't need to know how to program every time there's a bit of a conflict between software, hardware and peripherals. I like my computers to be no more complex to operate than my flat screen LCD TV.
My bass amp (both the onboard pre and the rack mount or head unit) on the other hand is quite the opposite. If I can tweak it seven ways from hell to get a better sound, I'll do it.
I wonder if his high pricing for the Epiphone is driven by the need to recover the cost of the Ritter gig bag.
With as much as Ritter charges for their basses I wouldn't be surprised if the one of their gig bags costs in excess of $500.
Of course that begs the question, who buys a Ritter gig bag to put an Eppi bass in?![]()
I've never had a printer live longer than a couple years since about 2010. And, when the ink runs out, I can get a new one on sale for less than the cost of the ink cartridges.
Reason I ask is, like I said, everything I've read said they did stop, but I think my 08 has an ebony fretboard. I've tried looking at other pictures of 2008 and white thunderbirds and its hard to tell but most look lighter than mine. Curious about if it was some sort of special order or I'm missing a piece of info in my search. No but it's a damn shame.
I'm not the guy, but I've noticed that Gibson is one of those companies with loose records, loose books, and "adjustable" manufacturing specs that digress according to what they might find access to, etc., on the spot. It's an organization rife with rumor and legend, and apparent "short runs" of this and that.Reason I ask is, like I said, everything I've read said they did stop, but I think my 08 has an ebony fretboard. So you're saying that the auction is already a month behind schedule, Les?It always pisses me off when people grossly overprice things on eBay. But 1000 POUNDS for an epiphone bolt on, in sunburst no less... Seller needs to be punched really hard in the face! Where's the key grip?!
And only 2 weeks in!So you're saying that the auction is already a month behind schedule, Les?
Mentioned somewhere well back in this string is a book all about Gibson by a well regarded individual, which will no doubt have more concise information than my light-hearted offering.I'm not the guy, but I've noticed that Gibson is one of those companies with loose records, loose books, and "adjustable" manufacturing specs that digress according to what they might find access to, etc., on the spot.
