Hey, @Chucky Stiletti !!
Don't that beat all. Trying to horn in on my new start up.I do the same, and the humidity is more reasonable here.
I think it's like adjusting a carburetor. Turn to the right till it starts sputtering and back off a bit.Ok, got a question for the amp gurus here. My friend has a Sound City guitar combo, Concord.
There is a pair of Sovtek EL-34s ready to go in, and her doesn't know how to set the bias for the tubes. Neither do I. Is there a simple primer available in how to do that?...
Punk shows in the late '70s and early '80s were really violent in the mosh pit. No fists, but the slamming was intense. If you weren't beat up, you were not in the middle of it.More of a "back in the day" scenario - I attended a metal show (more to tag along w/a friend who is into metal) a few years ago and they had a big swirling mosh-pit going on. We were high up in promenade seating so could witness the whole scene. There were a number of women 'moshing' but everyone was so polite! No flying fists, relatively gentle body-bumps/contact, more of a frenetic, chaotic group dance than what a mosh-pit used to be known for. The other funny thing about attending such a show was that while standing in line, I was one of the only people (mostly guys) not wearing a black t-shirt with "my favorite metal band" on it. Really felt out of place.![]()
I'll get the deets, thanks Chuck!the more info you can get the better….vintage? wattage? model? pics if possible? shouldn’t be a prob finding something..

OK, maybe don't do that.
Skip-troweled paving!I've always favored the '70s TR6 (like Chucky's white one) but damn - this '61 TR4 is red hot! An inter-web pic - check out how the driveway is done!

That wasn't supposed to be a reply to the post indicated! I have to stop doing this on my phone....I got confused between 'abominable' and 'abysmal'...![]()
That's really good.

front and rear suspension and brakes (all discs now) done….now in the process of deciding whether to shave the head, add Webers and stay with the stock 6 or put the 3500 (all aluminum Buick based) Rover V8 (as in the TR-8) in there……currently, candidates for final paint are BRG or Maranello red…… may enter the GT class at Laguna…..I've always favored the '70s TR6 (like Chucky's white one) but damn - this '61 TR4 is red hot! I haven't seen a neck crack like that before. I guess that particular piece of mahogany didn't hold up to being a bass neck. The same thing could happen with an NR, being a one-piece set neck.I have an unexpected update on my RexBird, you will need to zoom in but there's a clearly visible issue with the neck:

So on top of the pickups being installed without even dipping into wax (already conceded and agreed by Gibson) now the neck is moving so badly there's a crack all the way through the finish that I found because I could feel it - then I looked and it's easy to see where the stress cracks were before it actually shifted enough to fully crack through. The shop have agreed to replace it. I'm waiting on time spans and for Gibson to clear up the issue with my having the original p'ups potted into covers (both the Gibson Rep over here and the shop told me I could keep them). I wish I could exert more pressure as there's a very appealing NR in the UK Mod shop I would exchange it for. Who knows. But I would not recommend anyone else on here buys a RexBird unless it's a year or two in the future so any timber issues have shown up already!
This is the Mod shop NR - they call the finish Guac-n-Roll!
