Thunderbird Club

I get very depressed and angry when I see sellers trying to pull crap like this. Sure, the seller didn’t butcher it. And if the electronics are original, I’d consider it as a parts donor. But not for anything close to that price. And the seller didn’t pay anything close to that for it. What a ripoff.

Yup. Parts donor or huge project bass. Let’s negotiate. Opening bid, $10.

Better Irv than me. I hate Texas. Sorry Miles.

My ex-wife who I thought was relatively intelligent lives in Texas. (Austin if I remember correctly) Her older sister is a nurse and they both favored horse-medication during Covid. She was from Kentucky so maybe it's a "horsey" thing. No love for Texas (been to Houston) but I do want to say that our Miles is a straight-ahead guy and I consider him my friend. He has a great smile too!

He’s certainly my friend too. I would be his wingman any day.

People do some strange stuff. This is local to me:

Beyond unfortunate. I mean.., a skilled woodworker/luthier could resurrect that atrocity but... you would need to pay for that and trust me - doing it correctly would not be inexpensive. So factoring that in as well as a pro-refin by say, Pat Wilkins... a stretch asking that much. Typical when someone is attempting to unload something that is clearly a mistake.

Another of my favorite quotes: The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it’s the illusion of knowledge. (Stephen Hawking)

Applies to so many areas. But think of all the people who know things about the mysterious Thunderbird--who actually don't--but are nevertheless abounding in verbiage and confidence that they do.

Just had a look myself, & while i was expecting worse, this is still very sad. & for close to 7k, i dislike how people think: "on well, it's a vintage piece, its worth a lot of $$$". or another example on the lower end of things, there's a local to me whos selling a Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar guitar, which he modified/upgraded parts, & is asking for 1k. I'm sorry, but no - I dislike these mindsets too: " well there's better parts, sso this guitar is now worth more than its original price tag." No, not cause you spend 500$ & more in upgrades that you automatically boost the price of the base guitar. That's like if someone upgraded an affinity series squier, & decided to sell it for close to a used MIM 7ender, that's wrong.
