Thunderbird Club

Exactly. Love a pickup right against the neck. I play a peavey T-40 a lot and an EB-0. But with this thunderbird I’m going to remove the bridge pickup and plug the cavity and refinish in blue, so it would be amazing to have just “middle” t bird pickup, and gold foil in the neck. But the gold foil is surface mount, and it’s too tall to put in the neck. Would have to counter sink a route and drill through for the wire, not sure it’s worth all the effort.
"Worth it" is all relative.

There's a huge difference between Formica and Masonite. Formica is plastic laminate, and Masonite is pressboard. Making anything out of Masonite is a challenge because it fuzzes up so easily.

If addressed, it's cheep and useful in many applications.

used as an inboard leveling platform (raw & contained)

...and sealed with paint if exposed - outboard platform. I used an old plaster-textured paint sample board so that's why it's textured. Looks a bit like slate, which is another Decorative Arts 'look' I've used.

The Freebass, a Coral something or another, was a short scale. It had an insanely small double octave neck with no truss rod.

yep - the Wasp ... this one is pretty rough

There must have been a couple different versions, because the one above has a 22 fret neck -

This (very nice) one ('67) has a 24 fret neck -

Was especially happy to find this recent performance in Močvara Zageb Croatia by my favorite Croatian Surf/Lounge band the Bambie Molesters who I thought dis-banded. (maybe a special performance?) It appears they have a new guitarist (stage left playing the Gretsch) Love Lada (Lada Furlan Zaborac) on bass! There was a short period where there was a male bass-player, maternity leave? She's married to their drummer. Hrvoje Zaborac

Anyway - also on that stage, Messer Chups!
