Thunderbird Club

Just noticed the bridge PU looked like it was about to pop out. Old pic of the Nerd Bird.

Was especially happy to find this recent performance in Močvara Zageb Croatia by my favorite Croatian Surf/Lounge band the Bambie Molesters who I thought dis-banded. (maybe a special performance?) It appears they have a new guitarist (stage left playing the Gretsch) Love Lada (Lada Furlan Zaborac) on bass! There was a short period where there was a male bass-player, maternity leave? She's married to their drummer. Hrvoje Zaborac

Anyway - also on that stage, Messer Chups!

I like it!

Sparkle orange? Hmm, perhaps. Though i personally have an orange/blackguard p/j in my lineup, But on the potential RD, i'm debating going with a guard of any sort.

TBD, i've got a lot on my plate project wise atm (Between my own bird revamp, my peavey century bass amp recaps & resistor swaps, & now i've dismantled my peavey 5150 guitar head because it's given me problems for the last while, & i'm just going to rebuild it on turret board, & relocate a few things in the chassis to make it more serviceable vs the giant pcb boards). Not counting the short list projects i gotta get done for a few people before next week hahaha

Damn! They were at the Observatory two weeks ago. I would have been up against the stage staring in awe.

A cool T-bSO from Spain I stumbled across on Reverb. I like a lot of its details. Vila Guitars - Austral Bass - 2 Tone Sunburst | Reverb Canada

Very cool modern take on the Thunderbird. Really like the Southwest native Indian type detail on the fret markers and pickguard. Huge belly cut! Unfortunately, a huge price tag as well. But to cut the builder some slack, it’s a bit hard these days to be a one off Botique type shop and make enough profit to make it worth your while on basses under $3000.

Busted out the VP for practice the other day to test out the Acoustic 360/300+301 cab (unpowered version from the 371), and man does that combination just WORK. There is something about the Acoustic Preamp that just seems to be made for the Thunderbird. The growl just seems to explode, while being able to keep the lows tight and not overwhelming. I used my Grecobacker too, and it sound fantastic as well, but the Acoustic and Thunderbird are just made for each other, more so even than the T-bird and Sunn or T-bird and Hiwatt. The Sunn and Grecobacker have a similar thing going on, they just pair perfectly.

If you have a spare Acoustic set you just feel like road tripping to texas for storage, let me know.
