Yah, I'm not certain what that other one was - seemed like a 'lesser' model with a body more like the Silvertone Hornet that Sears sold.

There is something about the Acoustic Preamp that just seems to be made for the Thunderbird. The growl just seems to explode, while being able to keep the lows tight and not overwhelming. I used my Grecobacker too, and it sound fantastic as well, but the Acoustic and Thunderbird are just made for each other, more so even than the T-bird and Sunn or T-bird and Hiwatt. The Sunn and Grecobacker have a similar thing going on, they just pair perfectly.

A Thunderbird and an ACC 360 are the sound to my ears.

I had one of those also... I think it might be still around here somewhere! :D These 'soft' travel cases work much better. (w/handles and straps) Less bulky and plenty protective.

I'm saving all my formica and masonite to sell on the planet Zærkon (in a distant gallery far, far away) where they are 'rare Zærkon' materials worth billions of Zærpuckuals. (about 1 quarter of minus 1% of our penny) :D It seems like a losing proposition, but you know what they say on Zærkon... "a Zærpuckual saved is a Zærpuckual earned". (...or something like that... it's somewhat elastic in the translation)

This is definitely most fabulous - really funny to see they didn't have a matching treble side set of Grovers so there are two slightly different sets of machines on there (they look spot on from the front - certainly not an issue, just amusing), but I absolutely love the solution to the bridge/string anchoring. I think I'm'a make meself a 8 string - tho I'll prob use the Steinberger "banjo" style tuners for the octave strings, light and out the way

My wife started, but never finished, a geology degree. She absolutely refuses to even visit New Orleans because it’s below sea level.

The Epi is a chameleon. It’s actually TV Silver with chrome hardware. But it can look green or gold, depending on the lighting.

Shout out to Geo who did a finish repair on it that turned out better than I could have ever hoped for. It’s a nice player. DA tapes and tone knob twiddling get the tone into Hoffner territory. It’s what I like to play Beatle songs on.
