I thought a custom early 50s Pbass sounded great on a program where Mavis Staples was singing with her band. The bass player had a website and I contacted and commented that his bass really sounded great. He replied and gave some info on it and we chatted a couple times. He had it made out of pine, which seemed a little out of the ordinary, but it sure worked. He liked it because it helped with the weight. For the life of me I can't think of his name, but he was kind enough to reply and not in an obligatory manner. Unfortunately I think I lost the emails we exchanged.

If I read it correctly, the Foundations are the same materials, but a thinner core wire for a more flexible string.
A friend just flew to FL and said never again..... He's flown a number of times, but said too many nuts are flying nowadays. Seems to be the case given there's a flying nut job news story every week it seems, and those are just the one's you hear about. Bad enough being helplessly stuck in a small tube at 30k ft, then add the crazies. I'll pass until they allow tasers to be used by the flight staff!

Yes. Mine were NPS. Nice strings, but I prefer the Power Rounds NPS or Power Steels. (Personal preference.) The Foundations are more flexible than their other strings and have a more smooth midrange. Think round core(ish) NPS. I'm using them on a G&L that has an abundance of mids that I want smoothed out a bit. They work very well on that bass.
Here's what SIT told me:
The Foundations were designed with tonal balance and string flexibility in mind. They aim to sound less like an "angry piano" and more like a good old fashioned bass guitar. The Foundation Nickel variety is slightly brighter than our Power Wound series, and the Foundation Stainless will be slightly less bright than the Power Steels. The Foundations also have new core-to-wrap ratios resulting in a string that is also easier to bend. For what you're describing, we would personally recommend trying the regular Foundation Nickel variety ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) as they will give you the most balanced tone and feel suitable for just about any style!

It is a II, it's listed at 2,500 I'm hoping they drop the price.Hopefully a II, they're the best, the pickup shakes the earth!

hmmmm…….IVs ain’t too shabby, Badbird bridge (along with the attack of the bridge pup) is a HUGE upgrade for certain styles imho…..

I like IVs. IVs can easily be IIs, but IIs can't be IVs. I know the 2nd pickup and circuit could affect the tone, but I doubt I could tell.
