I think the idea of a 26 pound 212 or a 29 pound powered 212 is incredible.

Your right about those 2 knobs. That said, I've been using MarkBass 18 years, and never used either after the first week of ownership, they're always at O.not to beat the dead horse as this seems to come up (unnecessarily since folks make it clear they wouldn’t purchase one) often….the amp will not suddenly stop working if you ignore those two knobs…..if it was me and I walked up to to an amp with controls I didn’t know I’d either leave them untouched or set them to 0 (they don’t affect the shelving on the EQ) just like an effect (compressor, octaver) that I don’t wish to have in there…I don’t advocate just MB, I advocate Class D in general for convenience sake and my choice in this sector happens to be MB…..

Dusty was masterful in her hand gestures - such fluid expression. Of course in many ways she was emulating American black soul singers like Dianna Ross & the Supremes, Aretha, and Martha and the Vandellas to name a few.
The few times I played with a MB were like that- just enough time to set up and start rehearsing, then playing a few minutes later. I played with Those Knobs just a bit, then turned them “off” and ignored them. Things sounded good enough so I didn’t worry about them. If I’d had time to explore and a concept of what they were doing, I might have liked the MB more. As it was, it was fine, but …
Beautiful, but if it’s not what you expected, not ideal.
We’re enjoying a lazy day by the fire, looking out the windows, and dozing off. I’ll take a heater down to the basement and try to put in a little shed time this afternoon.

Have a little down time from the band so I set up a case on a couple sawhorses to work on a couple of the Birds.
This morning's project, a complete rewire of my Orville. Went from 250K Noble pots to 500K Gibson audio taper and an .047 Cap, the difference is amazing, the SD Custom Shop pickups sound SO MUCH BETTER now.

In the guitar world, the standard is (or used to be, I haven’t kept up) 250k pots for single coils and 500k for humbuckers. (Yes, there were exceptions.) I was quite surprised to find out that 500k wasn’t the norm for Thunderbirds.
just as there’s a Wichita Lineman, there’s a Kansas City Milkman….this guy’s my fave (one that any cameraman can plain just not ignore)…big proponent of 10” drivers and instrumental in putting Trace Elliott on the map….
FWIW(very little), I have similar reactions to Orange's little 'pictures'. I don't like 'International' road signs either. This is less of a problem since I haven't been outta the U.S. since '81(or was it '82?). Whatever. Went into Canada @ Windsor; came out @ Buffalo. Didn't 'get' km's on their road signs too.
I'll hafta(try to)remember that on the outside chance I run into another one.

That seems odd that they used 250k pots. 500k/.047 is standard T-bird guts.

I have 500K pots in nearly all of my basses (think my Precision still has 250K, I'll have to upgrade it at some point), they really bring out the bite in my Grecobackers. How would you compare the SD's to say, Thunderbuckers and the new Gibsons now that they're paired with the 500k pots?

I'm with you on the Class D amps. I only lug a tube amp and the bigger cabs for special occasions.
Pretty sure Live at Leeds was a p bass, but the Tbird looks much cooler!
