Thunderbird Club

So did the Kraken.

I didn't watch any sports at all yesterday ( read about the Huskies) but that would have been a fun game to go to, it was nice here and the game was outdoors at the baseball stadium.

The pic made this native Floridian shiver.
By the way, our band has played quite a few times for some of your fellow Finns at the Finnish Club in Lake Worth, FL. About 50 miles south of me. Supposedly Lake Worth has the largest single population of Finns outside of Finland.

Yep. ~48,000 in the stands. Looked like Seattle did a great job putting the game on(I watched it). Heart performed-live-during the first intermission. Sounded great, per usual. A bit chilly for my @$$, but it woulda been 'cool' to see live.

Nothing to be sorry about whatsoever. Never, ever give it a thought, Geo. I'm not offended in any way and hate to think how many times I've done that. Once years ago I got it in my head when typing that George was "Gary." I'm not good with names. I can remember a face from someone I saw once at Walmart but not a name.

I've been called worse. But the real Dave seemed to take some umbrage with that wording. :D

Danny, I get it. Names are difficult for me unless I use them a good bit, at least at first. Even over time, I often need to use them occasionally or they wander off, so that's why I'm using yours here so much, Dylan. It's been that way my whole life. Hence my gentle reminder or good-natured ribbing, e.g., to Gao that your name is Debra, not Dougie. A year after Sharon and I married, we ran into one of my old college friends. I recalled his name and introduced him, but acted like I didn't think to introduce her because I HAD FORGOTTEN MY WIFE'S NAME. It was a few years before I admitted that to her. Thankfully it never happened again!

So, Darrell, I'm with you on this one.

Apparently, the only issue is headstock nicks. Heck, Scott nicked up his headstock the first day he had it. That’s $600 off the price of a new one.
I managed to whack my IV, VP, and CP headstocks into a low ceiling PDQ. So far I haven't with the Grecos, but they came pre-dinged and are slightly shorter (plus I've gotten more ceiling-paranoid).

Interesting (and a bit sad) that the founding members are all gone, but it's cool both Wilson sisters are back. I saw them briefly in ~1979 and they were killing it.

The videos I saw of concerts 2-3 years ago were underwhelming, which was why I asked.
I thought Brown Sabbath did a great job when I saw them, but then I never saw Black Sabbath, so I couldn't really compare them.
AFAIK there are no original members left. There are guys who played with the crash-surviving members still around, but I think Rossington was the last of the bunch. I still enjoy alotta their songs, plus we do 2 or 3 (CRS) of their hits-Gimme 3 Steps, Sweet Home Abalama[sic], and-if someone thinks they're funny and requests it-Free Bird. We don't care, it's a few minutes of not having to think what we'll play next. As I've said B4, we don't use a set list. We go by crowd reaction/requests.

First gig of 2024 this Saturday. :bassist:THUNDERBIRD time.:hyper:

I'm prolly in the minority on this, but I've always been more attracted to Ann. Plus-that voice. And, she plays flute(so do I)and BASS.

You are correct on membership. Gary had been the last member for a while. At least they didn't all join the 27 Club.

Go, THUNDERBIRD!

By the way, our band has played quite a few times for some of your fellow Finns ay the Finnish Club in Lake Worth, FL. About 50 miles south of me. Supposedly Lake Worth has the largest single population of Finns outside of Finland.
FL seems to have the largest concentrations of everyone outside of their native area nationally or abroad. Must be something to it. Good bass players, maybe?

All of that is just funny, Steve.

As stated, 10' cord giving me a little slack.

2023: I got two (TWO!) Grecos (one is RED and is now my primary bass) and now have two amps chained together as well.

2024: I just want to play bass live and feel joy.

I'm glad she found her way to you, she likes to be spanked....

I'll have to check my concert shirt, but I think I saw them in 2018, and they are still killin' it, I hope they come back here soon.

It was shortly after the Kennedy Center thing, and as I had expectred they did "Stairway" as an encore... probably he only person I would want to hear cover that song....

Correct. Artemus Pyle, drummer is now the last member of the post original band (and one backup singer, I think) alive. Rick Medlock (long grey hard guitarist was actually a member very early on. They all grew up together in Jax. Rick's grandfather, Shorty is the inspiration behind Curtis Loew. Rick seems to have played drums and guitar along the way with them. Moved on to Blackfoot.

He wants exclusive rights to his name. :)
