Thunderbird Club

never cared for Ozzy in Black Sabbath or solo.

never a fan of drug addled, doddering peeples....

Saw Heaven and Hell twice, the two best live experiences evar... third best was Eddie Money.
I don’t know, at least through Vol. 4, there was great music there. I liked Ozzy’s voice ok on the first solo album, but after that, not so much.

Haven’t been to Greece in like fifteen years. We had a good time. Real estate on Rhodes for a place on the beach was ridiculously cheap. Like 125k. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. But we were putting two kids through college, so we didn't pursue it. And we had no clue at the time that our daughter would end up going with the airlines for a career. BTW, she will be starting pilot training this year.
There’s still time to get a holiday house. :)

The point with the Aust Pensions I should have made was that they are transferable with certain conditions. So they are getting the pension payments still even though they are living in Greece.

The closest I've been to Greece is Albania.

I'm excited for your daughter!

How can I make my Thunderbird sound more like a Stingray?

Put Stingray pickups/circuitry in, of course. Make sure you get them in the right spots.

Short of that, play with amp/pedal EQ and try playing with both fingers/pick all over the place. Try different strings.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that's anything anyone here has tried.

Put Stingray pickups in, of course. But why?
I have a stingray pup in my kramer. Kramer is owned by Gibson .

A Sterling isn't that much. And would probably be cheaper than modding a Thunderbird to sound like a Stingray.
I’m not looking into modding. I am broke so cannot afford a Sterling or similar. I’m looking for any suggestions about volume position and EQ etc. I know it won’t sound the same, but getting in the general ball park odd good enough for me.

Similar here, although that written name things is maybe 50/50 (vs 10/90 at best for hearing it without immediately using it several times).
Ive tried the “using it several times right away” trick, didn’t it work for me. Word association worked a bit better - at least I could remember the word I associated the name with, still couldn’t remember the name though. But thanks, Shaquille Foot, I’ll keep on trying. :D

This is me, but not the nearly photographic part. It's embarrassing/frustrating after meeting someone that a minute later likely couldn't recall their name after a conversation, especially at a meeting. I can recall the conversation and their appearance, but the name will often elude me. I always wondered what in the world was wrong wrong with me. (No need for everyone to rush and begin compiling a list....) That you, Gary, seem to have a similar issue makes me feel better that someone as intelligent as you struggle in the same way.
You said it, Brook Farms, we’re in this boat together. Hell, I can remember an entire bass line but for some reason can’t recall the name of the song. I’ll just blame it on age, I used to blame it on drugs, but I’m so old now I can’t even remember which drugs I was taking in my youth. :D

Pilot training is a rough road.
Lots of hours for each certification.
Not to mention the time involved to be where she wants to be.
I guess the upside is working for an airline.
It’ll take away from any family life she’s got.
But if she’s truly dedicated to be a pilot……..

You might be able to get in the ballpark by installing stainless strings, playing with a pic and soloing the bridge pickup. From there adjust your onboard and amp settings to favor a crisp top end with plenty of attack and a rounded but not boomy bottom end.
