Dad’s dad worked for the post office as a mail carrier, and for the railway postal service. This was his. I haven’t been able to open it to get the model but it runs. It appears to be a lever set, so opening is required to set it.

I was a loner when it came to Bowie. It wasn’t until Young Americans/Fame that anyone I knew “got it.” Even my girlfriend didn’t get it. I took her to the Station To Station tour show and she was bored. Probably why that relationship didn’t work out.

As I appreciate his whole repertoire my personal favorite CB LP's were later ('80s) Ice Cream for Crow, and Doc at the Radar Station.

What I loved about Beefheart is exemplified at 3:27 - roots blues, odd (cool) bass/drums time signature, CB at his prime powers as a gravely-voiced crazy-like-a-fox poet/musician/artst.


From 7:30 to 9:00 is genius. Exhaustingly rehearsed, forgotten... and played totally improv - that was the Don Van Vilet way. the following song I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby slams the finale - :bassist:

Captain Beefheart (DVV) was a force of nature. A huge part of pop-music history.

The other thing about T-birds is that it can be used for all variety of music, not just 'rock'. It may not look like it fits visually for some genre's - but looks aside, it can fit musically/sonically. I used mine for blues in Chicago, Miles here uses his at church on Sunday - and of course our fearless leader V used her's for '80s new-wave/rock. I recently used mine to play '60s classical pop-songs... no limits to where it will fit in as a great sounding bass.

They do great for Motown, classic rock, punk, metal, country, and more!

Wonderful watch! Get it serviced and then you don’t need to worry about damaging the watch to set it.
