Thunderbird Club

Yes, I don’t really know but I suspect Teisco. From looking at pictures of similar instruments I guessed at 1968 for build. Coincidentally, my Eminar valve amp is 1968.
68 ruled….

Pat did this lovely 'version' of Antiqua for me according to my stipulations. I told him I wanted aged brie - he nailed it.

Came out great, pretty much what’s expected of Pat, and he always delivers.

huh?…many dig tort……

Tort looks perfectly at home on some bass bodies and with some bass colors. No hate here.

pepperoni’s American…..
Next you’ll be telling us, pizza wasn’t invented in Italy.

Nonsense! The Thunderbird VI is the long awaited equivalent to the Firebird VII !
And I know of at least two of those in this club! I’m in good company with Jeff.

big part? lol…that amp was going somewhere else…..I could have also made money on it….not my thing….Dave and I go back more than three decades…..;)
You’re a good man Chuck, store owner Dave seems pretty cool too. Sure wish the timing would have worked out for me on that fliptop, but it’s in a good home now.

I scored two tickets for the opening show for Nikki’s 2024 tour at the Ventura Theater on 02/08. George has right of first refusal to be my date.
I’m getting excited!

Just to be clear, Marshall is getting excited about seeing Nikki and the band, not about me being his date, I think.

Thanks. Those sure are sweet!

The cool pic would be George's white 70s P that looks like my old J together. Other than years, you'd swear they were related. It's a beautiful Pbass.
Actually it’s a white 68 P.
As Chuck would say, that’s a fine year for Cars and Guitars.

The J that George has the twin of. Fortunately the tort is more subtle inside.

I have you as first right of refusal if I ever decide to sell my 68 P. It would make the perfect book end to your J.

Those DiMarzios were great pickups back then.
the things we love to regret…. paid 250 bucks with trays, tort and ohsc….hated tort back then (outgrew that thankfully since it's such a classic look today)........first thing I did was replace that pup with the DiMarzio (fitted the coil split switch as well) and later replaced the PG...at one point it wore the Badass II bridge from my Gretsch Committee but thankfully that bridge found its way back before that P got stolen in 81.....:banghead:
point being, if you were a bass, you didn't want to be owned by me back then....:rollno:
