Thunderbird Club

How many fat vegans out there? Or fat vegetarians for that matter? The only one I can think of is Prince Fielder.

Anyone have personal experience of potatoes making them fat without the help of overeating, inactivity, sugar, chemicals and/or saturated fat?

For me it boils down to this: Eat Less, Move More. Everything else is an excuse.

I know several overweight or downright fat vegetarians, and one squishy vegan. Totally based on the food choices they make tho because they seem to eat more processed food than anything. Just because Oreos are on the list of acceptable foods doesn't mean you are supposed to inhale the package.

My daughter is a VERY strict vegan and has insane willpower that keeps her stuck to the diet. She will not indulge in junk food at all. Not sure where that willpower came from cause it wasn't dad and mom.

But in Thunderbird news, I added EMG Geezer P-J pickups to my sunburst Hamer Bird and 80's Hamer pickups to my red Nocturnal/Warmoth Bird just to try something different. So far digging the results.

I like them so far. Fairly aggressive P pickup but the usual low output J pickup IMO. I like cranking the gain and playing it that way. Sounds good to my ears. I think they would sound different in a 7ender type bass with Maple and Alder body. But the Mahogany seems to take some of the brightness out, which I like.

I replaced the usual EMG active PJ set with the Geezers. Both sound good but I find some EMG pickups to be a bit sterile.

Excuse the bad pics (nighttime basement lighting) but this the the 2014 Heritage cherry Thunderbird I picked up last night. Swapped all the chrome hardware from my 2006, got it set up pretty good and it plays awesome.

I will try to get some better pics in natural light.

Also the addition of the Lollar pickups and Babzic bridge really have a positive impact on the tone and playabilty, IMHO. I played my 06 with these pickups and bridge the sound was considerably different than this bass with the stock 3 point bridge and Gibson TB pickups. Better is subjective so I think a more apt description would be "expanded". The bridge and pickups really give you everything you like about T-birds just more of it. Great low end, ringing highs and a super fast neck.

My old GF had a doll collection and I would freak out when I had to go to the kitchen in the middle of the night. Her dolls were all set up in the living room and I had to walk through to get to the kitchen. Always felt that they were looking at me. I would swear that thier eyes followed me as I walked past them
That's only because they are actually following you.

My grandmother had a few, one was really creepy, old Victorian looking style with the curly hair and long dress that would sit at the end of her bed, creepiest thing I've ever seen.
