It’s work but worth it so the oboe isn’t floppy and wrinkled.OK, I've played in orchestras with strings, clarinets, flutes, and the double reeds for years, but howinnahell do you starch an oboe?![]()

I'm really liking the SD Custom shops now that I've got the rest of the wiring sorted out, played it and the Cataldo at rehearsal last night. If $$$ are important though, the Gibsons are a really good choice - bass will sound like a current Non Reverse, not a bad thing at all.
I love that little high-hat!Apparently not. Must take after her Dad who can work on about anything. I got ripped off in the talent department.
I'm just going to get a couple spoons and show y'all what I can do.....

In reality this looks a bit too complicated. Should just stick to being poor at bass since I've got tons of experience at it. I really have it down well, if I don't say so myself.
That's beautiful- thank you for sharing! Btw, what make is that? It reminds of the bass in this video of a relatively unknown ska-tinged song by the Fine Young Cannibals-

I mean, $$ always matters. But $240 vs $400 to mutilate a $3500 bass doesn't really matter all that much. Besides that, I heard through the grapevine that TV Jones manufactured the pickups for a certain brand we know and love at one time and that SD was in charge of it more recently. Plus SD offers the black nickel as a factory option.
I have an answer but, must resist...must resist...must resist. It’s work but worth it so the oboe isn’t floppy and wrinkled.

I think only the angry guy in the commercial can answer them. But if I eat the eggs, does that make me a cannibal?fire away…
My folks occasionally had brains(chicken, I think)and eggs for breakfast-long B4 those commercials aired.I think only the angry guy in the commercial can answer them. But if I eat the eggs, does that make me a cannibal?
and all we ever did was let them drink our beer.will stop now but truly thought I’d seen it all….

FWIW all the options you listed are legit good choices, I've great things about Lollars and Novak as well, just haven't had the chance to try them yet. We're really splitting hairs here.
I am liking the SD's......

Dang I might have to see if our local liquor store has PB whiskey!A little explanation about the Peanut Butter(flavored-barely)Whiskey I mentioned a few[2-300]pages ago: it's a brand called 99. This is 'cos a 50 ml bottle costs $.99, AND it's 99 proof. Just right for a late night taste B4 bed. (The pic is as fuzzy as I feel afterwards)

And this is a pic of my two main players these days
(Epi Embassy/Gibson NR TBird):

I like a few shots of FireBall whiskey but it’s 33 proof plus I like PB too.
As you know…I really like your T-Bird too!

Isn’t the correct term ‘street person’ now? Not oboe…OK, I've played in orchestras with strings, clarinets, flutes, and the double reeds for years, but howinnahell do you starch an oboe?![]()
I love the Epiphone 760 Probuckers.POLL TIME:
Got a top secret project going on. Kind of a Thunderbird II on steroids kinda vibe (it's going to have two pickups). What pickups should I get?
1. Gibson Repros
2. Lollar
3. Novak
4. Seymour Duncan Custom Shop
5. Something else I'm missing
What was your dissertation on?
Never mind, I likely wouldn't even understand the terminology in the title. And please say it didn't have "paradigm" or "motif" in it!That was the rage for a couple decades.
Yeah, I've had it since '73. We're kinda used to each other.
