Thunderbird Club

Thank you. I had a white pearloid pickguard for a good while. That yellowed a bit and really wasn't a thing (for me), so I put the original back on. It's a great playing bass. That time frame where Fender's were often passed over until '08 when they began using the better bridge, and has the S-1 switch no one liked which added to the dislike for that era. It plays great and sounds great, and looks nice. What more could you ask for?

As mentioned 456 pages ago, I had my main player Pbass stolen from a church years ago. After getting back to playing some (and a G&L as an insurance replacement), my wife said one Saturday out of the blue, "You miss your Precision, don't you?" She knew the black one was at a store we had begun to visit and suggested we go look at it. (She also knew there were several 3 tone sunbursts...but they were never an option at our house.) We drove over and I played it a while. It did play very nice and was offered a fair deal at the time, so we went home with it. (I might have gotten it instead of the G&L, but that gave me a great deal on the last one they had.) For that reason I likely will never sell it. It would have to be a needed trade/cash for something pretty special.
It's got a whole story that involves your clearly awesome and amazing wife. Like many bassists with awesome wives that "get it", you clearly married so far over your head that your nose musta bled for a week to ten days. Do not ever sell that bass. Make a kid to pass it down to if you must. It's worth it because your wife understands.

will stop now but truly thought I’d seen it all….

I tried some for Grady in an attempt to help with some of his issues the last couple months. The Vet said she can't say to use certain forms, but said that it's worth a try. I used it more for helping him rest at night and help with occasional nausea from other meds. I couldn't tell it did anything. I will say he hated the taste after the second time. Even one that supposedly had a "pleasant taste."

Now you tell me. I just traded it for a nice Hondo bass..... :smug:

Thanks, well said. I can't image it going anywhere.

It was time to restring, so I tried the set of Dunlop black box stainless steel on the Thunderbird. I love the feel of them. Tighter than the SITs, but the tone was nowhere near as nice as the SITs. So back on a set of Power Steels went. I buy by the 6-pack and just put in another order, this time the Fusion Wound Stainless. Through Jason at FretNation they were only about $3 more per pack, so I figure I'll live with those for a while and see what I think. They should be at least as bright as the Power Steels, perhaps a little brighter. Basically the same string.

An EB-2 is just an ES335 with a 30 inch bass neck on it. That's exactly what that looks like, but Gibson didn't offer a black one or a fretless one. It must be a modified one or maybe a copy by somebody besides Gibson. It could be an Epiphone Rivoli that somebody de-fretted.
(All of TC turns to look at @WillyW )
