Had no intentions of getting a new bass today, then I made the mistake of trying an Ember Red ‘64 Epi. Pics to follow, but wow.

That Ember Red is a beauty and the Firebird is over the top! The Ember Red headstock looks great to me but a mock up might show the raised part painted black looks better. Happy Bird day!Well, having this in my hands I can easily say that this whole neck thing you guys are on about is pretty minor, had to really look to see a difference - there is, but seriously. My first impressions of it are that I like it better than my white Vintage Pro, the neck is very slightly thinner so I already like how it plays better, the pickups are 760s and this bass will stay stock with the possible exception of me airbrushing the raised portion of the headstock black. Glad they didn't do blue 'cause I'd be ordering one.
TD;DR NGL it's a really nice bass!

The awesome Thunderbird aside, please give us the skinny on the amp. I’m curious. I’m sure the gang is too.

OK, talk to IKEA.They are not Japanese. Or they would listen to us and have bigger profits. Two through necks, interchangeable for reverses and NR’s and lefties. Only need to add body halves as required.
I am loving that Ember Red T-Bird. I’ve got a YBA-1 I had reglassed a while ago with the caps replaced and it’s a solid head! Mines only a conservative 40W but it can fill a room with 2 cabs. Those things weigh a ton from the massive Hammond transformer! You ever see the YouTube video of Pete Traynor testing his new models himself by throwing them from the two-story roof of the factory, replacing the tubes, and then testing if the amps still worked. Oh man I just added the video…Mr. Traynor’s a mad man! The 1997 video is a little wonky! An old Traynor YBA3- this one needs a little love.
I own a couple of them. What’s not to love about a 100 watt tube head and a Thunderbird.
Yeah the thing is when something changes we’re curious creatures as to why it changed…at least I am. So why did they add the pitched neck? Might even be better! We’ll see.My neck-through BC Rich has a pitched neck. Looks exaggerated here because it's mirrored in its reflection.

The pups on my Ibby AGB200 are kinda weak(I only use the neck pup-surprise[not]), but it'll suffice for what I use the bass for. I just crank up the amp.I have played Ibbies over the years. I currently own one. The basses are well made. The necks are great. Generally, the pickups suck IME and IMO.

Dang!!Maybe more of a collectors bass - but a pretty cool, essentially NOS Gibson-related bass from 1966. As someone who appreciates restoring basses from the '60s, especially the late '60s - I'd consider their asking price pretty reasonable ATC.
