and don’t forget the schematic pasted to the bottom of the top panel….not a big deal in the days of the internet but very forward thinking back in the day….assumes the amp can be serviced by any tech anywhere, anytime….was never a fan of Pete’s topologies/tone but you can’t knock these amps in any way…

I can't remember where, but I played the 67 NR through a Traynor setup(YBA-3/412*-I think)and just fell madly in lust with the sound. And I was young and dumb enuff to not object to the weight. Hell, everything weighed a ton back then-it was expected.
*Might've been the 2x10+1x15 cab. Not certain[I have craft(Can't Remember A Freakin' Thing)]

BEADG Ric is coming along…

if I were refinishing I’d move the E tuna up a bit more centered.

The washer covered moving the A tuna toward the midline.

1/2” hipshots on the bass side.

stock ric tunas on the treble side.

IF I were to use the 1/2” hipshots on the treble side the washer on the D tuna would sit under the truss rod cover AND I would have to index the nut so it lay along the edge of the trc.

I could get 2, 3/8” tunas for the treble side and it would look a little more better, but it functions as it is.

I am going to make an ebony nut tomorrow, and I can string it up and play it. I still need to do some work on the bridge but I have a functional backup.

So. You’ve been holding out. Congratulations! Sprechen sie Deutsch? I have high school and two years of college. I can understand most when I watch German vids. I used to read well. That is long gone. Please bring her to the GTG so I can flirt. Have a great trip!

She lives here in Germany.
As much as I’d love for her to meet all us freaks.
Her and I have bigger fish to fry.
So I’ll be flying solo to Seattle.

Well, having this in my hands I can easily say that this whole neck thing you guys are on about is pretty minor, had to really look to see a difference - there is, but seriously. My first impressions of it are that I like it better than my white Vintage Pro, the neck is very slightly thinner so I already like how it plays better, the pickups are 760s and this bass will stay stock with the possible exception of me airbrushing the raised portion of the headstock black. Glad they didn't do blue 'cause I'd be ordering one.
TD;DR NGL it's a really nice bass!

Coolest husband ever had this show up today as well - it is stunning.

I was wondering if they had complaints from people that they couldn’t set the 3 point low enough, so the raised the fretboard…

Then I remembered the VP/60’s didn’t use the 3 point anyway
One of the great improvements of the Vintage Pros over the originals is that you can get the action super low.

I so wanted a Traynor rig in the mid 70s, but the only shop in Miami that carried them was firm on prices:banghead:, so I wound up with a blue line SVT/810 setup-which I never really liked. Sold it when the 2 1/2 year gig I got it for ended.
The main music store in Santa Barbara was a dealer. I rented from them before I got the Kasino. But they were pretty expensive to buy and wouldn’t take my Bassman 50 as a trade.

Yeah. The main music store in Miami(Ace-"the bandit")carried everything else. At that time(mid 70s), going up to Ft. Lauderdale was quite a schlep[this from a guy who would begin driving 18 wheelers up to 400 miles a night], so I never thought to check there for a Traynor outlet. Yet that's where I got the SVT/810 setup.:wacky:

Modern Music off Oakland Park used to carry them….

It's prolly just as well I didn't know that. Or not.
IIRC, I got the mid-70s SVT/810 in mid 1980-at Musicians Exchange-when we got the Miami Beach hotel lounge gig.
Random thought: if something is called "Modern ____" when it begins, what is it called after a few years?
