Thunderbird Club

It's interesting the first Thunderbird pickguards I made back in 1982 featured cross hatches instead of feathers across the breast, this was because the only 60s logo I had to copy was on a very worn pickguard and the impression had become obscured and someone etched in cross hatches, it was all I had to go on when I did the artwork for the die. I still have the first pg I made in 1982.View attachment 5381507 View attachment 5381508 This pickguard was on my first 60s NR during the early days of the internet and pictures were out there, I've often wondered if Epiphone pulled a image of my early Thunderbird logo and copied the cross hatches.
Entirely possible!
How did you find someone to stamp them?

Posted these earlier on a thread on the LBO about Glenn Cornick's basses, so figured I'd throw them up here too.

His Inverness Green NR II before the heavy mods.

Here's a small photo to show the color, I used to have a copy of the full sized photo, but can't find a copy now.

In the early 80's I worked at a engraving shop that had hot stamp machines so I made them there. The same shop has been making mine for years until recently. I have bought the machine myself I just have to go get the die made, on my long list of things to do.
