It's probably going to get heavier strings for D or C# tuning soon. Something bright
I like the heavy (50-115) Ken Smith Bass Burners for my D Standard/Drop C ‘bird.

Yeah, when someone pulled out front of me, I got slowed from 50 to maybe 40 at best, and it totaled both cars. Sharon got some bruising from the air bag and shoulder belt, and we were both disoriented for a few seconds, but otherwise fine. The older couple in the other car were a bit more beat up but they were hit more sideways and still weren’t hurt too bad (afaik). My goodness. Glad you made it.
New cars, for all their faults, are in most cases much safer than older ones. There was a study done that I read about using a typical 50s model verses a typical 2000s, I think it was. Something like that. The newer was much better to be in if a crash happened in most scenarios. Thus I go for big modern truck truck with great ratings. Best of both worlds.
Did you try narrowing the string spacing on the Hipshot?I decided that the Hipshot 2 point isn’t going to work on the Greco copy EB3. The neck is just a bit too narrow.
So, if anyone here is interested, only $99. That’s well below what they normally go for.

I eyeballed it and there didn’t appear to be enough travel to get the E and G on the fingerboard.Did you try narrowing the string spacing on the Hipshot?

I did a few days ago. I’ll see if I can find it.I'm imagining they are set for a full-scale Gibson/Epi bass - you should post string-width for anyone interested.
So roughly 1400 pages ago.I did a few days ago. I’ll see if I can find it.

Shame, shame. I couldn’t find it either. Not surprised - it's nearly impossible to actually read every post every hour of every day so it's inevitable that I miss something.

So, here are some ways to look at it. All this data is at the saddles. Greco EB has ~9/16” spacing. Hipshot is ~11/16”. 1/8” doesn’t sound like much but across 4 strings it adds up. The following used the G as the zero point.
Greco 9/16”, 1 3/16”, 1 3/4”
Hipshot 11/16”, 1 3/8”, 2 1/16”
Of course, the zero points don’t align, so you have to move the G and E in a lot.
That’s what I think I’ve got.narrow neck heal and a too-wide spacing bridge... ah, no.
Yes I noticed if you aren’t on here for a day or two there’s lot’s of stuff to sift through. Some other clubs it’s a just few posts in day or two. T-Birders are avid posters! Sometimes I read and have to decipher all of the scrambled posts and it’s like unscrambling eggs! Ha!So roughly 1400 pages ago.![]()
All the data anyone could reasonably ask for is on the Hipshot site!I did a few days ago. I’ll see if I can find it.
Just not the Greco starting point. All the data anyone could reasonably ask for is on the Hipshot site!
Fine. All the bridge data. While I’d hope it would work, I always measure first. Why? Because of instances like that in my past, of course!Just not the Greco starting point.
Since we were doing cars...surprise. This is an exact version of my first car except I had velour seats.
