Thunderbird Club

Not a weakness I have had on a regular basis. And my wife who doesn't display a danger signal saved me from that potential problem. Not that she doesn't have her subtle and lethal side that is best not to conjure up.
Dated every color I can think of. I always did prefer redheads for some reason. Something intriguing. More exotic maybe. OK, that's likely not it. I don't really know. Maybe I just live dangerously at times.

I have two of the Ultimate Guitar stands. One like below and the other with the useless mechanical closing ears. I didn't want one like that but it was cheap years ago. Nice pick holder slots at the top as well.

I have ~4 different bass stands, including one of those^. Gots to make certain the bottom thing-y is in 'lock' position.
One of the others only works well if the bottom of the bass is 'square'. The NR isn't.

EBCFs hard on the fingers or something?
Well for two of us. One person PillO hasn't been around in a good while. Both of us experienced the same problem. It wasn't roughness so much as our fingers would begin to be sore or ache after playing for a while. He is a pharmacist and all around sharp guy and concluded it was due to an allergic reaction with our make up and something in the strings. The Cobalt, I believe it was. He did also find that the gaps felt like little "cheese graters." Hence the Princess Fingers Club and our mascot in the pic above.

I'll admit that by the end of a 3(or4)hour gig my fingers hurt some.
Maybe if I practiced between gigs...
Nah.

I’m really just now using Flats and really loving them. Live I like the Rounds because they cut through but Studio Jamming I’m loving the Pyramid Flats!
I love flats on some things. Why it's must to have more than one bass. Flats are on my '55 P, '58 P, '64 P, '17 VP Thunderbird, G&L BABE L2000. The '76 Thunderbird sounds really nice with TIs or Fender Flats as well, but has Roto 66s on it currently.

Hope @PillO is doing ok

I never noticed it live, but sitting around at home after about 15 minutes or so I would begin to notice my fingers felt odd, sore. I wold stop playing and shortly it would go away. There is something about flats at times that can get uncomfortable after a while for me. Can't really explain it.

I hadn't noticed anything tough about them.

As for purple silks.... I have some TI Power Bass on one of my Ps and I dig them.

The first Eppi VP I bought, a white ‘17 from GC for under $350 had unknown super dead rounds on it. It sounded terrible. Unlike many here, I do not like dead old worn strings. Not that I love bright rounds when they are brand new, but I like to hear the acoustic liveliness of fresher strings. And there’s a tone knob to dial that brightness out if I want less of it. I had a set of the TI PowerBass (purple silks too), and for no other reason than the fact that it has a 107 low string and I frequently drop to D, I stuck them on there. That $350 bass became one of my favorite basses with that simple set of (albeit expensive) strings. It might be the only bass I have that has no mods, it’s just fine the way it is. It will get a Hipshot extender and matching keys, but that will be all.

That set of Power Slinkies is one of the few bass strings the local GC stocks. I got a set and used them on the BaCH for a few weeks because the nut that was on it was filed way too wide and deep. Once the Tusq nut arrived, I swapped them out for my usuals. I can look for them if you want them.

If you happen to run across them, I certainly wouldn't say no to them.
