Didn't know that.

Currently about 60% through Churchill's WWII 6 vol series. Insightful, but could have been shorter.

"Berlin Diary: The Journal of a Foreign Correspondent 1934-1941" (William Shirer), is a must read for any WWII history fan.

"Winter Fortress" is also a must. Unbelievable that they could keep going given all that happened. Amazing.

She needs a good cleaning, but other than that seems to be in good health with a nice deep set of pipes as well.

And interestingly enough, lookie what’s under the cover of those crusty LP “Guitar” pickups on the Limited Edition Eppi bird…

Them be twin blade (not six pole) humbuckers. That begs the question, which Gibson (or Epiphone) guitar pickups have blades vs poles? And are these the same pickups just in an LP housing?

Actually plays very nice, good low action and plenty of bottom end output. Needs new strings and a good deep cleaning.

Thanks. Well, we all know finding good musicians is one lower level of complexity and the next level is the right musician. I would much rather play with the right musician than a great one....who isn't the right one. One a regular basis anyway. The best drummer I've eve played with (a few times) was just a monster player. Not just better than most, way better. But would take the guy I regularly play with any day.

Jay is one of my best friends, and a monster in his own right. He came up through DCI and corps style drumming and can do just about anything. Had a stint with the Tony Danza Tapdancing Extravaganza even. We both agree that the best drummer we ever played with was a guy named Tommy who is a human metronome. Tommy is a full time drum tech and always on the road. I'm sure he's a better drummer than the guy he's working for. I'd still choose Jay because he's awesome and we have fun.

Looks like it should clean up nicely George. I think you’ll find it’s a nice Thunderbird, especially for the price.

I'm a big aviation nut, most of my reading consists of aviation history and first hand accounts, biographies etc. of pilots.

Thanks for correcting my misspelling of his name. I'm not a movie watcher. If he wasn't in Animal House or Blazing Saddles, I've never seen him in a movie.

I heard he lived in Louisville for a while when young. We never met and wouldn't know if we did.

Certainly no poles visible on the backside. If you ever pull yours, it would be interesting if they are the same.
