Thunderbird Club

I had a strange one like that some years ago. In the late '90s, I worked with a man for a while, and he was good at his job. Five or so years later, I needed to hire a guy like him, so I called him and sent him an email. About a week later, I got a call from his mother who told me he had died of kidney disease. I had known he had some kidney issues, but didn't realize how bad they were. His mother seemed pleased that I both remembered him and respected him enough that I would want to work with him again on a construction site. It was still a bit awkward.
When I was working construction we had a laborer who was a horse. A few months after leaving us he was mowing the grass and died. He was 32. We were shocked. Seemed as healthy as anyone.

Same but different.

A year or three after my Mum died, someone came knocking on the door looking for her. My little sister answered the door and had to break the news. Not nice for either of them.

One of a family of family friends on Mums side that we hadn't seen for some time. I think he was also on his own (fairly recently widowed I think) and maybe recently retired.
Anyway, he left his details and he and my Dad restarted the friendship.

It's cool that your Dad and he renewed the friendship.

Working on a pickup cutout template for the Fender buckers going in the GNorth FBird.
Now that I have the interior dimensions, I'll print a router guide.

Well crap I guess the decision to cancel the sparkly thunderbirds is out of my hands…. I thought I had another month….

Yes, they do......... I have a similar problem.

Any of y'all have any experience with or opinions or the Gibson Thunderbird G2s (Gene Simmons)???

Not personal, but everything I've read from buyers has been very complimentary of it.

Sad indeed.

And I just found out that a friend and former co-worker for ten years during the aughts died of a sudden heart attack in January. I last spoke to her around the holidays. She was only 65. I found out by trying to call her to just say hi.

Sorry to hear it. We went to a memorial lunch for a friend's husband last Saturday. He was 65, IIRC. She's doing ok.
