I'm laughing at the timing on this one cuz I just received a letter from the Texas Ethics Commission. Running for MUD Director one candidate accused me of slandering him because I said, "our current MUD president is stubborn as a goat."

I got the notice of dismissal yesterday. Lol

I guess my point was everyone today has a digital tuner now and can silently tune between songs. They take this for granted. Where as a pitch pipe, tuning fork or keyboard brought the music to a screeching halt and the band had to manually and audibly tune while the crowd just stood there waiting. You better have some good banter to keep the party going!

I have a late-2011 model that's still kicking, albeit on High Sierra. Having ordered one of the fastest processors at the time and upgrading to 16 G RAM helps as well. Mind you it's a backup which I have used a couple of times when the motherboard of my 2016 MacBook had to be replaced.

Recently I used it to reclaim an older long-disused LaCie 250 GIG external drive which neither my 2016 with OS Catalina or my new 2024 iMac would recognize owing to its older DOS FAT 32 filing system. I couldn't even erase or reformat it with them, but was able to copy and save the files with the 2011 Mac before reformatting it to ExFAT.

Even though it's ten years old, that LaCie is still pretty fast with its Thunderbolt cable.

Anyhow I hate to see things go to waste- it has an impact resistant case with a waterproof seal as well as a USB A cable.

Never mind that have a 256 GIG SanDisk model on my keychain and a Samsung 1 TB T9 that could copy most of my files in less than 20 minutes -

Word to the wise- update the file systems on your smaller external drives lest the rendered unusable and you have to take it to a tech shop to retrieve your data-

I bought mine used. It's a 2019. A guy used it for a recording project in Nashville and didn't need it, for some reason. Sent several extra goodies. Had a top processor and huge HD. I love it. I just keep thinking I need to clean it up in some way like old Windows to get rid of junk and needless files. Feel free to advise or discourage worring about it.

Chucky I recently had my Fender Princeton re-glassed and re-capped and it sounds great! This thing is perfect for jammin' and small halls. Even sounds good mic'ed. Fender does make great sounding amps.

Have a general issue with Talkbass Forum. As of late I'm logged in with my iPhone but when I open the site with my iMac, I'm prompted to login with my email and password. But when I do so, I'm told that the username/email could not be found.

What gives?

I haven't had any issues on my iPhone, my iMac, or my Linux desktop. Have you looked in your iphone saved passwords (assuming you use that feature) to verify the login info?

No need to stop and tune as the night went on. Just play louder. Covers a multitude os sins. We would tune with the keyboard. Almost always played in bands that had one.

Ultimately all that matters is that the band is in tune with itself.

To be clear. You want a USA Foundation. The earlier eighties have the P knobs like mine. They are rare. I've been told that the body on mine is an '86, but that may not be accurate because Peavy supposedly switched to black speed knobs sometime in '86.

Mine was built for Doyle with the older body and the newer thin neck. Peavy was trying to get him to move from 7ender. He didn't really recall how much he used it as he was playing mostly fivers by the time he got it.

If the one you see for $200 has the P knobs, get it. Here's a reverb listing for a set of four that listed for $130. I have seen sellers asking even more than that for them.
