Before the introduction of proper sewerage, clean - safe - water supplies etc, Europeans were pretty much permanently drunk. The more I learn about the potential effects of alcohol at the cellular level, the less I want to drink it.

The less you know, the happier you are. Although, I have discovered that drinking less makes me more productive. Going back to our previous math analysis, I can say that I'm fortunate that my wife does not require alcohol to be a 10.

What's truly amazing is the ingenuity that humans have shown in order to get all screwed up. It's almost as amazing as the ingenuity they have shown figuring out how to eat stuff that will kill you. How many ancient Japanese people died before they figured out how to prepare blowfish? And, what made them keep working on the puzzle? Ah, so uncle Ichiro just died violently from eating this fish. So did aunt Hiroko. They prepared it differently, so obviously, we haven't cracked the secret to making it a delicacy. The idea that this is probably not a good idea wasn't in the cards. Smoking is the same thing - some caveman somewhere decided that it was a good idea to light things on fire and then stick them in his mouth. (With all due respect, it was probably a guy, because we are more likely to be kinda dumb that way.) Humans are mind boggling.

I like a variety of T-birds and I'm sure the Thunderbuckers come close but the '63-'65 neck w/the huge hs hasn't been re-created over all the versions over all the years. It may inspire me to attempt to duplicate as closely as possible a neck-thru neck like it to see if it can be done.

Never have had one in my hands to play so can't definitivly say - the Orvilles and Grecos I've seen pictures of do look closer. Elitists? - not familiar with that one. I had a musician friend over tonight and coincidentally he played my T-bird. He plays mostly vintage G&L guitars and has an early 80's L-1000 bass and is versed/proficient in both disciplines (guitar/bass). He said playing the T-bird felt like he was playing "the real deal" - like steering a substantial luxury car, it just had a feel, weight and sound that was all about getting down to business. Pretty much that.
