Thunderbird Club

It is a case of the whole being greater than the components.

I haven't had a martini since the last time I saw you and Frank. Guess that is a thing.

And then there are vodka martini's ... shaken not stirred of course.

Dang, it’s been almost a year since I got my T.Bird.

So far, I’ve had 3 different types of Ernie Ball round wounds on it: Cobalt Super Slinkys, Nickel Super Slinkys and Nickel Extra Slinkys. I also briefly tried a set of Cobalt Flats. I love Cobalt Flats on my P.Bass,, but to my ears my T.Bird sounds best w/ something round wound.

The Extra Slinkys are my favorite so far. I’m on my second set of those, but they need to be changed, and I wanna break out of my Ernie Ball rut and try something new.

This being the Thunderbird Club, I’m ignoring the search function and putting it out there for what is prolly the millionth time…

What kinda rounds are your favorite?
I like Hi-Beams

120? is this a four string set? Might heavy E string…
I agree. I like a 95 for low E on a long scale and a 90 for SS. I will use a 100 on a flat string on my long scales.
I like round wounds for piano type brightness but I’m starting to use Pyramid Gold Flats to preserve frets and easier on finger playing. Long time D’darrio user but like SIT’s and Rotosound 66’s.
