Thunderbird Club

Maremma, which is basically a white version. Italian sheep dogs. That’s just two of the seven that are here now.

You see I would have called that a (fake) woody.
When I think panel it has metal instead of glass in the rear side windows.
We call them “panel vans” when sedan based, I think you guys called them “sedan delivery” ???

This is what I imagined.

Sydney suffers from this now. Median house price is AU$1.6 million !
That's fair. I'm old enough that when I was young, back in the previous century, that real woodies still existed as daily drivers. Not the stickers version, but the original wood panel cars. The stickers versions were becoming common because actual wood panels were no longer cost effective. Most often on a green car. Weird. They're such a snapshot of that bad period of car design. I would love a panel van that can haul my gear, the drum kit and guitar rig. That would be cool. Maybe a hearse...

FYI on the fire. The northern front is about 1 mile from the farm; however, it has been 1 mile since about 7pm PDT. So, looks like the wind is blowing north. Fortunately, it is just grass land so no big fuel sources. The fire started at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. Must have been one of those laser weapons again :wideyed:

Hopefully the fire stays well away from your farm.

Yes, and I forgot to mention that the channel two on this V2 has been modified to be the same a a V4B, I believe is some coupling(?) caps on the input that get changed. I think it’s a negligible and maybe not even noticeable change in tone, but leaving channel one alone, and changing channel two to be more like a V4B I think is cool. It’s a V2B with reverb! Not that bass has any use for reverb.

Definitely not loud enough for hard rock in my situation on its own, but 72Watts of all tube driving a hearty 4x8 on top of a 2x12 that will be run by a 100w tube head could prove to be enough, and maybe pushing both heads hard will provide some interesting results.
In doing some of my own mixes of DJB's slower "gospel sounding" tunes, I found a touch of reverb on the bass actually worked.
It sounds like we're playing in a big room.

I use a BOSS reverb pedal full time. Just enough to provide some depth. You can hear it solo'd but it blends in the mix otherwise.

I think ultimately with this crazy setup I’m going to play with, any effects will come after the ABY, and only be on the path to the V2/top cab(4x8”) with the possible exception of an octave pedal which would probably have to be ahead of the ABY.

So a smidge of reverb coming out of that top 4x8 might be kinda cool.

The update on the fire. Turns out LLNL was doing controlled burns but they claim the fire had nothing to do with them even though Cal Fire says that is exactly where the fire started. I smell insurance lawsuits...right Marshall?

The bad news is that the neighbor's dog kennel (massive structure), which is right on the property line (violated the set back rules) burned and created enough heat to melt our metal barn. It is brooding season and we had 100 baby chicks in the brooder tower inside the barn. :crying:

I guess we are lucky as 3 homes in the same area burned down.

Glad to hear the home is safe. The rest of that really sucks though.

Can’t like the part about the barn, but at least yours wasn’t one of the homes. Feel terrible for your neighbors. :bawl:

What the fudge!

probably because people think of the Ultra Low switch associated with SVTs….I don’t indulge with that setting, limits the dynamic range of the setup (mostly the enclosure) imho….
That might've been another of my problems with my 'peg. I never thought about using a long cable and getting out on the dance floor to hear what it sounded like out front(we were our own FOH, of course).

Did someone have a link to a Gibson tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece/claw here recently? I’m considering modifying one of my ‘90’s Gibsons to be more like a ‘60’s, and the two piece bridge assembly would be part of that. Have a vintage one would be cool but I forgot if it was priced stupid expensive.

Sorry to hear this - hope they can get it under control.
