Thunderbird Club

I didn't realize that TB4's and Goths had different nut widths. That's very interesting. Could it be that the TB4 will become my favorite? Dang...now I am really dying waiting for next payday!

My wife has my other Goth bird buried in the guest bedroom. It is a 2007, nut if I remember correctly it has the wider neck like the 2008 Goth. And the 2008 is going to need a shim in the neck pocket to get setup right just like the 2007 did.

And all of mine are bolt ons

I got my chrome Gibson 3 point today, surprisingly it fit( the studs fit the inserts already there) now, I have never had to adjust one of these from scratch, are there any general rules of thumb/suggestions ect? I'm thinking it'll be a tinkering process. My neck is good so just need to get the bridge height. The old one had a lot of down angle, the front was a lot higher than the rear and bass side was higher(I didn't adjust it)

Suggestions needed for a new pickguard for my lefty Gibson t bird. I don't like the white one, I imagine I'll need a custom one made, ideas from experience?

Be sure and chat with Larry, LJVSK

OK here we are, my Gaskell is now very much like a '76 T Bird! Sounds and plays great too. A bit of tinkering with the bridge height and intonation and shell be ready, Snowbird, for Oct 11th.

I wish I could get rid of the Gaskell logo...tape stands out too much and I'm NOT refinishing the face. I was going to originally paint it black like a modern til I realized the old ones didn't have the black veneer.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I've seen them with both all-white and black/white headstocks. So it would still have the classic look if you painted the headstock black and you would cover the logo.

And here she is!

My girlfriend showed up at my workplace with it :D what a babe...

It is really an amazing bass, its very light and resonates extremely well. The action is close to where I would like it, but I won't bother adjusting the action since the supertone will arrive in a few days. The pickups leave me wanting more, the bass sounds so amazing unplugged, the wood and construction of the bass are really top notch so it will be great once steve at the Thunderbucker ranch is home so I can place my order and put in some pickups that will do this bass justice! I will definitely post progress photos of me swapping out all the hardware for some tbird pron for everyone.
