Gotta love that combo! Out of curiosity, do the two basses sound quite similar or are there significant differences? Ergonomically speaking, do you find one easier to play than the other?

I still do crap like that although not quite so insane. I may be going to Guam for work pretty soon. That's a long-ass trip. I plan to stay there for a few extra days and maybe spend some money and go to Palau for a bit.

Makes sense. Another one of your really good analogies. I didn't know for sure or how, but was concerned the powered on amp would have something going through the cab to the other amp. Definitely κακός.

exactly, and in an unintentional manner we stumbled onto a great explanation of what could cause (as you say “something going trough the cab to the other amp”) an impedance mismatch…

I knew a schmoe who used to plug the output of a PA power amp output into someone’s amp input when sabotaging…..

The counterfeit option is really a problem. A lot of ebay name brand items are fakes (especially when an unknown, weird name and or with not a very long selling history). Dewalt batteries, etc, etc... And these things are almost always not detectable as fake unless you open them up--the product not just the packaging. Spark plugs are often counterfeited as well, you name it and a variously connected gov company in Ch is faking it and sending the junk here. Sometimes the packaging can be an indicator, but only if you know every detail of what the legit should look like. Known sellers almost always tend to know who they are getting things from. Heck, I bought a White Castle and am pretty sure it was a Krystal burger.

This is why I tend to buy from trusted sellers rather than random (or cheapest) internet sellers.
Then again, I buy stuff from people here, so who knows?

One thing I’m not keen on is multiple restrings.
I’ve recently been avoiding that.
I did run into trouble and wasn’t careful and put a twist in an E string.

Well that was pretty close to describing how D'A strings sounded on any of my basses..... As I've said before, it's been years and I should give them another fair try at some point.
