Thunderbird Club

Yes sir. But it's not realistically usable. But wasn't when new either! My case for the '64 Embassy (same style case, diff color is in mint condition, however. But I never use it for transporting because they are awful cases.
Agree - my '64 II came with its OHSC. (still have it) A very ill designed case. Basically, you could stack two T-birds in it and close the case. I flew with my '63 II once and before going bolted a strap over the neck-yoke to secure it. When I got to my destination, the strap was ripped out of the yoke but luckily the bass was ok. Both that '63 and my '64 have not experienced the broken hs plight, and they have had their share of drops. As much as it's a common malady w/vintage birds - they are actually pretty tough. Just not Fender tough...

Now wait a minute, you can’t just waltz into this THUNDERBIRD club praise the virtues of the Casady bass then turn around and drop the mic as you walk away! We wanna hear how good it sounds, post that darn video!

Seriously, everybody I know that has the JC bass gushes about how nice it sounds, but I’ve still never actually played or heard one. I’m very JC curious right now.

If it truly sounds as good as everyone claims maybe a JC pup and electronics implant in a Tbird body would be interesting, haven’t seen that done before, and yes, I’d do it if the sound is interesting and useable, I’ve done stranger things to Tbirds.
We talking the Electar pup or a different JC?

Zero modification thumb rest for the Casady…
I don’t find using the Electar pickup an issue as a thumb rest. But I normally just use the neck Dark Star.
