Thunderbird Club

I replaced the heat sensor and one of the heating elements in the oven, as well as some of the dryer stuff.
I always try to fix before replacing. I have replaced the drum rollers in our dryer 3 times, and the sensor once.
I replaced the relay board in the oven 5 years ago when it wouldn't shut off. (Oven off, but still hot) I could get a board this time, so I replaced the relay itself for the oven element, but that didn't fix it. It seemed to be the main control board turning on the top element after baking. That board isn't available. We got tired of turning off the breaker to ensure the thing was not running.

What's the best washer/dryer for metal?
I think this one.

BL Q filter: if you can read frequency response graphs, this will help.

I read it. Even understood some of it.

I think this might be my problem: "high inductance inductor with a rather low series resistance." Sounds fitting.

When growing up, our dad fixed everything that broke in our house. A 'repairman' never was needed. My brother & I were his assistants holding a trouble-light and passing him tools. Some people have difficulty screwing in a lightbulb. :)

There's a couple different ways to do it, but this is probably the simplest I've seen thus far:
Very cool. Go for it!

The one that was willing to negotiate was amazing_camera-shop. There are about 4 that are advertising the same one. Their listing had the most information regarding the condition of the bass. Others just said used.
Which means it is likely in his possession.

The control board for our old oven was unobtainable. That’s why we bit the bullet.

anyone here favor a Geddy Lee Preamp as part of their amp setup with a Thunderbird? I like the DI version but not sure about how well it runs into a power amp for a complete rig.
I’ve always been curious about the rackmount version.

But the closest I’ve gotten to sorta coping that tone was with an Ashly SC-40.
I’m now using this to get that tone back again.

I've had the DI for a couple of years, and I like it, though I have not used it into a power amp. Usually I use it as a DI at rehearsal to provide in ear monitoring to the rest of the band. I will say, no matter what, it won't make your 'Bird sound like a Rick. But it does sound pretty damn good and is quite flexible. That said, I prefer the SC-40s to the GED-DI (including JJR58's old unit!), which is very flexible and one of the best preamps I've ever used. It (obviously) nails the Geddy tone from A Farewell to Kings through Signals when using a Rick, and the Thunderbird sounds brutal through them.

Huh. I don’t know enough about this. You’re new Ashley doesn’t give you the same tone? I don’t have the time until I stop working to do a deep dive into learning the ins and outs. But I’m way happy with what I get from the preamps in the Carbine, the TT800, and the SVT.

Yeah, if I could get parts for the microwave I wouldn't think of replacing that whole unit.

Same with us. I became a reluctant auto mechanic because of that. I got pretty good at it, pre YouTube. But now I don’t bother. I got the current Crosstrek in December. I haven’t even opened the hood (which has a nice dent, courtesy of a pine cone falling on it).
